Well....My Jun 3 cams broke....Pics inside
I took the car to the Hondata dealer, and he tuned the ECU using a wideband oxygen sensor after installing the RC 440's and several passes on the street. We drove the 60 km to the dyno to do further fine tuning and see what power the car made. On the dyno, after the second run, the cams BROKE. The run was already done, and the technician was already off the gas, there was a loud noise and the engine shutoff. We pulled the valve cover and there it was...a broken exhaust cam. My compression on three cylinders was all low.

I already contacted Jun about the problem, and they have asked me to ship them my head so that they can take a look at it. They have told me that if the cams are defective, they will pay for whatever parts need to be replaced.

How high did you rev it?? and how much power did you make?? Damn.. all jun cams breaking are starting to scare me. Hopefully i wont have that happen to mine, it has been roughly 5000 miles on my juns now.

crower retainers though?
I would chalk it up to a defective cam or installer error, maybe valve spring bind. Modern Garage has installed 7 complete head packages into Bseries motors and has not had one cam break (knock on wood). Sounds like you just got a bad one, mark or todd will take care of you.
this is good and bad. Bad for you, but good learnig experience for the rest of us that it seems ALL aftermarket cams can break. now maybe some people will open their eyes instead of preaching one cam cause no one heard of it breaking!! *cough* JDM bandwagon peeps* cough*
at least they are cool about fixing the head

you better check your installed height before you ship it, that is the reason they want you to ship the head to them, so they can blame you for improper installed height of the valvesprings and then get off from paying for your repairs. I can't see them paying for anyone's repairs, in other cases they don't even offer to replace the broken cam. Best of luck with the process, hope it works out for you.
As my friend in Japan as always said all cam's can break or it could been cracked before install due to bad handling during shippment. Also mostly all breaks on both Toda and Jun cams in Japan have been due to improper install of the cams. Another thing if most notice on the sides of the Toda or Jun cam boxes that normally all state for racing uses only and no claims can be made to company. Toda I know for fact is in both english and japanese. So if they do replace the cam and fit the bill for any other parts damage it's coming out of the dist. pocket not Jun of Japan's. They only will take back parts unused or was defect in there part before it was installed..as all items are Q&A from Jun and Toda before they ship. Thats why I figure it was either due to mishandle of the cam during shippment which could caused small crack which got worse as time wore on with useage of them. Or it was due to improper install.
Due to shipping defects thats main reason I check every cam that comes into me so I know for sure it's been quality checked after the long shippment from Japan. Normally if it arrives to North America in good shape and the dealer packs the cam's properly you should get your cams in mint condition.

i have the car to 9700 all the time at the road courses
8 enduros later and still no problems
damn think of what would happen if that ever let loose
they might question the use of Crower retainers and they will check the height
they are good with their service tho
thats why i still will deal with them
hell they helped me without any questions when they were around here
and tuned the car as best they could while they were working on their own car

for the Nth time i'm repeating, NO skunk2 cams has ever broke into pieces. crower, toda, jun all have multiple cases of breakage reporting.
I`m running Crower 63402`s and swap them with JUN stage 2 in the next days ...seems to become a great deal for piece of mind
If you guys think, that no OEM cam could take damage.... you`re wrong.
My Honda dealer had to swap two sets of Type R cams last year. They did not break, but they were ground in.
Every engine can break, even the bone stock ones.
And from that day on you open the valve cover to do some headwork the first time, the chance of a long engine-life gets worse and worse.
@Christian:
You`ve had your chance... and blew your engine... so shuddubb
