gsr gas mileage?
i have a 95 gsr coupe with about 215,xxx miles. all i have is a iceman sri with the stock intake box covering the filter(sri cuz its rainy season) and a dc cc 4-2-1 2 piece header. im running on 3 205/45/16 tires and 1 tire i didnt know when i bought the car was on a 40 instead of 45. i wanted to see how much miles i get on a full tank of gas before the gas tank light comes on. i hit about 370 miles i started to worry a lil bit cuz the light never came on so i went to pump gas. i pumped about 12 1/2 gallon of gas. is my gas tank light not working? how much gas do you get out of your gsr?
I agree. Your warning light is not working. When mine starts flickering, I can only fit about ten gallons in. When the warning light reaches the point when it's constant and bright, I can fit around eleven. My light would have been on for maybe 75 miles by the time I could fill it with 12.5 gallons.

From my Telekenetic Powers I can tell that you have a low air pressure in your Front left tire, This is causing the car to tilt left thus causing gas gauge to malfuntion, Please refill all your tires to 100 PSI and then TOP speed run the purge the fuel system,,,
That Should do the trick

If you want to progress in level of difficulty:
1) Check all fuses (doubtful, but easy)
2) Check the bulb in the gauge cluster (most likely)
3) Remove/inspect/replace the sending unit (pain in the butt)

I just ran 159 miles on a half a tank and the gauge was right before the light comes on. Thats 90% delivery driving miles.I guess thats good?
P.S not trying to derail with me having an ls and all.

My GS-R has 245K miles and I've been getting 26-28 mpg city driving. It's been steadily dropping since I bought it almost 6 years ago w/ 90K on it. I used to get 30-32 mpg in the city consistently. I'm hoping a new O2 sensor (still on the original one) will help out.
I usually get between 300-350 miles on a tank, after running with the gas light on for a few miles.

whenever i buy a used car i immediately change the plugs, o2 sensor and fuel filter just cuz you dont know what the previous owner did.

Wow I was getting like 35-36 mph highway back when my GS-R had 100K on it. Most I've ever gone on one tank is like 407 miles and I put over 12 gallons in.
