Ok, I have the opportunity and the money to purchase a set of lip/lips for my car, 6th gen coupe.

If I buy the front mugen lip and the rear type-r lip, would that look alright? Or should I purchase the the type-r front and rear lips. Or just the front mugen lip? I dunno, don't have money to burn, just want to hear some opinions...

The only problem is Mugen didn't make that particular lip for the 96-98. They made that whole kit, or the lip kit... and neither of them look anything like that. That Mugen lip spoiler is for the 99-00. If you like the way that it looks then go for it. I personally think the CTR or Spoon lip looks better on our (96-98) particular model. Just my $.02

That Mugen lip doesn't look right on the 96-98 Civic. As mentioned earlier, it wasn't meant for that particular model. There is a Mugen lip for the 96-98 Civics but it's a bit wilder then most people's tastes on this board. IMO, go with either the CTR lip or the SiR lip.

How is the fittment of plastic lips? As compaired to urathane? Is it really worth almost twice as much to get a urathane lip?

 

i bought the ctr lip....the fitment is good except for in the front area where the top of the lip starts to roll into the bumper i have a lil space between the lip and bumper.......*shrugs* i am gonna try and fix it. i love the lip and it was worth the money....

 

Ah, fitment of the plastic. Glad you asked...From my experience, it just plain sucks. So bad in fact, that I tried to return the lip to the POS online shop I bought it from. I dunno, It's really up to you, I don't think saving a few bucks is justice for the horrible fitment.

Hey DXR, is your top grill a real deal or one with the 'grill mesh' stuff. It looks really good.

As for the copied lips, is being made out of urathane make it a better fit than made out of plastic? I mean, they are both copies.

 

I bought the replica MUGEN lip they suck it look gay if you put it on the way they want you to put it on. I had to make mine fit and did a little custom mounting. I suggest buying the real thing.

yeah i agree i have the real mugen lip and its hott. i havent taken any pics since i put the badge on but you get the idea. the ca is for sale by way if interested check the clasifides.

 

The TypeR lip is my favorite one but they all look good.

 

go with the type r....I kind of like OEM though too...thats what I have on my car

 

GCEX, if I were you, I would buy a Civic Type R lip. However, I would not buy any of the lips above because they are made of plastic. Save up some more money and buy a urethane lip.

OEM. Mines beat to hell but you can only tell if you bend down and look at it.

 

Yep i like the typeR lip or the OEM. I'm not a big fan of the mugen lip.
