car wont start

car wont start

90 accord, lx, auto tranny

fuel is being dumped, engine is turning...spark plugs not sparking

repleced the main relay and the ignitor...what is the problem????

i doubt all 4 would go bad at the same time...

if one was bad it would still start

check and see if you have a constant 12 volts going to the coil.. if so, check for spark coming out of the coil while cranking the motor.... kinda tricky if its located in the distributor housing, but still can be done..

voltage to the coil and a no spark condition could possibly mean a bad coil.. there are other possibilities as well.. if you still need help, then direct this post to the "tech" forum.. GL..

the coil is the last thing we need to replace...but i thought i'd ask before we did that...

how much is a coil from auto zone?

The fuel injectors wont squirt fuel unless the igniter is sending a signal to the ecu. If you pull both wires off the coil and connect a test light between them, the light should flash when cranking the engine. If it does, and you were not getting spark off the coil, you have a bad coil.
