that particular one is bolt-in.

not hard at all.

take out the front seats, you'll thank yourself after the install.

Couple of pics of mine, that have been posted here before. Sorry to bore those who have seen it before.

Look closely, and you'll see where the rear speakers were relocated - works very well.

Better pic of the speaker relocation:

And here's how I handled the door panel problem:

Still looking for a way to recover the bottom of the panel gracefully, but content with the bottom half removed for now.

Here was my crx with autopower rollbar. I had to modify my door panels though because it stuck out just a little to much to where the door wouldn't shut.

You assume a minimum level of patience, of course. Not my strong suit.

Does anyone have a tissue? Streetwerkz doesn't like my car; I think I'm going to cry.

Personally, I could give a sh*t if you like my car. But I'm sure that it made you feel superior, and that's what it's all about!

honestly..... the only thing im concerned about is the bar installed OVER the rubber matting.

and the fact that you half-assed the entire setup, makes me wonder how legit your motor, suspension, and braking system is.

i suspect you drive a death trap. that's all. it isnt about whether i like your car or not. the only thing i shouldnt have mentioned above was all the red. yes, that was just personal taste.... but the rest of the bar install is totally wrong.

no, thats only for the LAZY people.
take out the front seats.... CLOSE THE DOORS.... install the bar.
if you line it up correctly, you dont need to hack your car to bits.

i'll get some more pictures for you.

I'm not really sure how sandwiching the matting in there affects the safety/performance of the rollbar at all. Feel free to explain how that has any impact on anything.

Yours is the only install that I've seen on a non-88 seatbelt-equipped crx where the panels were kept without modification. So, kudos to you for being able to do it that way. Maybe mine wasn't installed very well, but there's no clearance on either side to clear the panels, so maybe your bar is a little bit narrower than mine.

As far as the safety of the entire car, I've done autoxes for years on it, done road racing at Pocono, always passed inspection, and have not died yet. I figure I'm either very lucky or everything's done a little better than you expect.

hey streetwerkz, is the difference in handling that much different with the autopower roll bar? does the the driver seat hit the 5 point mounting bar when it is all the way back? im 6'1" and dont want to get too close to the bar. im gonna have to go with the 1 piece fixed seat since i already smack my head on the roof when i hit crappy roads. i really want to do the replica jdm bass tubes with the rear speakers but the roll bar looks really appealing since i do a lot of mountain runs and chassis stiffness is good.

in a crx, the car gets really twitchy after you install the bar.

but you'll get used to it and adjust your driving.
