Hey peeps. I just got my type-r last week and some wannabes at school told me it's fake. It's not and I know it's not but i think they are jelous. most drive civics but one drives an accord. the civics are all old wagon looking things. like early 90s. anyways, they asked if my type-r had a purple valve cover, i never looked and they said all real ones did so i told them it did. they just walked away! my questions are, how do i open the hood to make sure it has a purple valve cover and did they remove the trunk release for the type-r my friends integra has one by the gas thing.

Yes they removed the trunk release from later integras. And to pop the hood, it is located above the dead pedals(the one to the left of the clutch). Type R's do not have purple valve covers, your friends are on LSD and you should spend lots of time on H-T.

daym! i bet they were trying to bait me then. thanks for the location of the hood release, a little window popped up from "jason" that said the trunk release is on the trunk but you say they removed it?

the only way to open the trunk for your car is from the outside, under the Red symbol, there is a latch...push it to the left.

on earlier models (i think 94-97), there is a trunk release latch next to the gas cap relase, but the 00/01's don't have them.

Type R only comes with Red Valve cover,

if you have a purple valve cover then you don't have a type R

i corrected my age information. my car is number 1347 according to the armrest i wont give you my vin i heard thats bad to release to others even though its visible. my parents got the car from the dealership (not sure which, got it for doing better in school) but i assume riverside acura in little rock. not sure what it cost.

 

I have a red valve cover on my GSR. Does that mean it's not a GSR?
