Default 96 Integra Carnage...What do do next? back to USDM? JDM?

honda-tech,

i failed to yield making a left turn... the other car came out of nowhere... see carnage below. airbags deployed too. i'm ok, but my wife was freaked out when she picked me up.

I'm away from my car right now (car's in Kansas City, i'm in CA), but i wanted to see if any of you have seen similar messes? Oh, and i can't pop open the hood because it's all shifted over and the latch catches on to the loop for the hood. what all do you think i messed up besides what you see? i'm looking to replace the entire front right suspension. Would you agree with this move? It'll only cost about 75 bucks for the parts and about 100-150 for the airbags.

As for outside, what should i do next? i'm trying to stay within a tight budget, so while i'm down in southern california, I'm debating on whether to pick up parts for a 94-97 front or go with a jdm front and bring some parts with me on the plane and ship the rest. let me know your thoughts and if you have any leads on parts. I'd like to purchase things ASAP as i'm leaving on sunday and will want things sold as a package. in all reality i can get the following parts for these prices while i'm here in southern california:

94-97 front will cost:
250 for the front end parts (bumper, lights, fenders, etc., minus the radiator support)... plus shipping of the hood and bumper
200 for the radiator support, shipped
maybe another 1000 for the major installation and paint?
... about 1600 total (including $100 for shipping the hood and bumper?)

jdm front will cost:
1500-2000 shipped
maybe another 1500-2000 installed and painted?
... about 3000-4000 total?

Looks like the front sub frame rail that the top of the fender is mounted to is probably out of wack.

OUCH! Do the doors close properly or are they slightly off now?

Depends if you got the money or not. If you do it also depends on how much you want to put into your teg. I think most would suggest JDM front and if it was cheap most people would get it. If you are a baller then go JDM if not then USDM is great too. Remember the more flashy your car gets (JDM FRONT), the more heads it will turn, but also the the chances of your car getting stolen is higher. Oh, BTW, is insurance footing the bill or are you?

JDM front is sexy!

yikes, looks to me like the car will never drive the same again, even if you try to straighten the frame.

Get rid of it and get another one or something else.

the insurance will total it, most likely. so in a sense, they will be cutting me a check... what amount it is, i don't know. regardless, it's a cost to me and i'd rather not have to deal with this crap. thanks, though, for those of you who've responded.

so, if you don't call insurance, you're stuck with the damage and getting that repaired is going to be expensive.

Or if you do call them and they total it, then you have money but they take the car. Perhaps you could buy it back for cheap, but then it would have a salvage title, and the money you have left still probably won't be enough to fix it, at least not very well.

Or you can take the insurance money and try to find another car for cheaper, or if you don't mind a car payment, use it as a down payment on a newer car.

Without actually seeing the damage without the parts torn down its hard to say. Hits like this that usually come to my work are worse than expected. Although like i said its hard to say with the parts on.

Other parts possibly need would be the fender apron, inner wheel well. Maybe even a front rail. All of which required to be pulled, spot welds dirlled out and obviously welding. A pull like that will probally be listed as 5-8 hrs or so. Plus a whole lot of time to drill/weld.
