WHAT JUST HAPPENED! OT Austrian GP. (don't read if you haven't whatched it.)
um, Ferrari sucks!! that was Barrichello's race, and at the finish line, Ferrari told him to move aside and let Micheal through. boos by all... so disappointing.....
Shumacher, IMO, showed his class by insisting Rubens take the top podium position at both the trophy presentation and the interview.

In other news, its about time one of the Honda teams scored a point. Good work Giancarlo.
I still think Honda shouldn't dump Jordan (if that is in fact what they are considering) because in the past two seasons they have consistently shown that they are a worthy team and perhaps the better of the two Honda teams.

That was just pathetic. What the hell is in the heads of the ferrari guys... I still think Schumacher should NOT have gone ahead and took that win regardless. He is a big enough "boss" at ferrari to be able to override such decisions. He's probably wishing he would have done it now, but I guess in the heat of the moment not even the best drivers can think perfectly clear. What would ferrari do, fire him for not following the order to pass?? ya right.
Michael looks like he definitely feels like he owes Barichello a GOOD few (not just 1) favors. It should be interesting how this screwed up team at ferrari attempts to re-deems itself in the future. This not only hurt ferrari, Schumacher, but also F1. Even though Rubens did not really win the race, I'm sure he won the hearts of a lot more fans! He was one of my favorite drivers before this and even more so now.
He is a class act.
Villeneuve had such a great drive and shows again what he is capable of if given a half decent car. To me, he is clearly the top Honda driver and easily in the top 4 or 5 F1 drivers right now. He always had and definitely still has that raw natural feel for the car that only a few other F1 drivers have. If it weren't for that mistake and the resulting drive through penalty, he would have easily been the "best of the rest" and finished 5th.
for JV and the new Honda engine!!
edit: another thing, if Schumacher really does end up winning the championship by a 2 or whatever point margin, he better build two statues of Rubens. He should stick one at Ferrari's headquarters and one in his living room for a year!

Funny how you didn't see the little Frenchman receive the Manufacturers trophy, that little snail-eating *****.
Also, did you all notice how quickly Schumacher turned the "blame" to the top of Ferrari (to Montezemolo in particular) as a whole and not to Todt as it should have.
The rationale is that Schumacher may need the points?!?
If the F2002 goes sour at all this year, something is wrong with the balance of the universe at which point F1 won't matter anyway...
Just goes to show you where priorities lie.

When you look at what Ferrari spends on F1 racing, i'm not surprised they told Schumacher to take the lead. They want to make sure they own the drivers and manufactures titles. And didn't that same thing happen on the same track last year.
I didn't watch the race this morning but if Honda finished in the points then I will watch it tonight.
As far as the whole BAR/Jordan/Honda relationship goes, the only way I would want to see Jordan dropped, was if Mugen would supply the engines and let Honda sponser BAR. Then we could watch Mugen build stonger engines than Honda once again.

Yup, ... I didn't believe it either!
... and, Villenueve (sp) almost got a point.
Now if only about three more cars had dropped out ...
P.S.
what a GREAT idea

Booooooooooooo!
That sucked!
I've been a Schumacher fan since '92, but this sucks! Both me and my fiancee' yelled out NO WAY! Ferrari showed no class doing that. I fully understand all the big $ involved etc., but come-on
Villenueve had a great day carving up the pack though

Schumi/Ferrari suck azz
This type of thing makes me understand how people hate F1 and would rather watch nascrap
Ferrari really has shown their *** this time. There has got to be some sort of rule put in place to stop this. It takes real competition out of the racing. Unfortunatly though this could probably never be enforced or proven. F1 is already in trouble some what financially so they better be careful to handle this PR nightmare the right way. Thank god that Honda finally looked respectable though. The good thing is this was not the "good" engine as it was having oil supply issues. So in Monaco the more powerful engine will be used. Come Canada, Honda should be rolling pretty smoothly.
What a terrible end to that race. Michael seemed to hand the situation as best he could, and you could tell he was sincere when he said he didn't like the decision himself. I agree, Michael should have disobeyed the orders. Maybe put the car wide in the last corner so that he couldn't move past Rubens.

I agree, that race totally sucked. Rubens deserves a win more than just about any other driver out there, and for it to be taken away after the final turn...BOGUS. Ferrari has a little PR dillemma now though, it was hilarious to see the fans booing. I'm never buying a Ferrari after seeing that
<-- Shumacher wasnt doing this today LOL

I actually have MORE respect for Schumi now - I've never been a fan, frankly - since he was truly uncomfortable with what happened. Really, I think this did Rubens nothing but good. He knows who won the race. We all know who won the race. Michael knows who won the race. Rubens gets all of that (and the hardware), plus maintains his reputation as one of the nicest, most sincere F1 drivers of all time.
I sensed a little "hah-hah!" in his voice, under the layer of perfectly understandable disappointment. I think that he knows that he actually had Schumi emotionally unbalanced - out of control - probably for the first time since coming to Ferrari, but is too nice to gloat about it. And he is assured of two more years in a job that STILL doesn't suck.

Just got done watching it as I missed it this morning, YUCK! Big
to Ferrari for that crap! I thought MS handled it with class though, I will give him that. Poor RB.
A big
to JV!! Man he was cooking! Maybe the Honda teams are finally getting their act together. I think the future will be brighter for both Honda teams, but I agree they need to dump one of them (BAR has better driver lineup IMO) after this year and totally concentrate on kicking ***.

I agree with what Ferrari did. They want the driver's championship, Barrichello knew what he was getting into the moment he signed on to the team, and hence we have the situation this morning at the Austrian GP.
There is no one on this forum or planet for that matter that can say the move was totally unecessary, because no one knows how close the driver's championship may be. If Barrichello wants out, he should get out. But as long as he is with Ferrari every one of those 400 employees work for Michael Schumacher.

sports wise of course everyone is right about it being wrong.
but ferrari want to win the champ. so they are taking precautions to win it
business is business, and ferraris business is to win.

Re: 1), The most likely scenario makes Ferrari look like idiots because they were "buffering" an unsurmountable lead.
2) A much less likely scenario which taints any championship Schumacher might end up winning. I may be alone in this last opinion but I'll bet you that in the back of Schumacher's mind and every catcalling Ferrari fan in the stands this weekend, there's a little voice saying, "Remember Austria..."

How embarrassing! Not only for Barrichello, but for Mikey too. I hope Michael took who ever made that lame decision aside and ripped him a new one.
It strikes a personal note with me, beacuse in recent years to much emphasis has been placed on the beloved "Championship". Who cares! Race fans want to see guys fight for wins, not a year end trophy.
