Guys, in the last 2 months, I have seen 2 ATS 1.5way Carbon LSD's break.

One in my car and one in my mates cars. Both cars have seen about 4 track days and have both have been installed for about 12 months.

The axle gears and the sun gears have completley failed in both diffs. I think the sun gears failed taking out the axle gears with them.

I just find this a bit of a coincidence for this to happen to 2 different cars. One with a stock engine and the other with a fairly modded engine.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

I was planing on rebuilding the diff when the first one broke, but when the second one broke as well, I am a little worried that once the diffs are rebuilt, I am only going to get another 12months/4 track days out of them.

What are peoples thoughts on this?

 

Hmm I'm curious about this. If anyone else has has an ATS Carbon LSD installed or any indirect experience with them, please share your opinions. A lot of people in the CRX Australia club are contemplating upgrading to these LSDs. I'd like to know what realistic expectations about plate life expectancy are etc.
