Default PSP/PSPSW switch (power steering removal related)

BTW: Just wanted to drop this note to other guys who've pulled all of their power steering equipment (pump included).

Jumper the PSP connector coming off the sub-harness. It's a normally closed circuit that the pump switches to open when creating hydraulic pressure. Upon seeing a voltage drop in the circuit the ECU then believes the power steering pump is being used causing it to bump up the idle in anticipation of increased load.

Without a pump present, and the sub-harness disconnected, the circuit is always open - making the ECU think it needs to bump up the idle all of the time. While the IACV will compensate for this, there's really no need to have it happen in the first place. Just put a paper clip in the plug and call it a day (thankfully it's a female plug, so jumpering it is a 2-second job).

I came across this because I noticed my PSP was signalled on, even though I had no power steering in the car anymore. Look at the "PWS" indicator in the 2nd to last pic on page 2 of this thread:

After jumpering, it's off as it should be.
