[Pic] What do you all think? [valve cover]
Process: Pain in the ***.
Last time, I used high-temp engine paint, so it was a bitch to strip all off down to bare metal to start all over. But if your starting from scratch, the process is simple:
1) Remove your valve cover.
2) Strip the factory finish with Paint Remover, not thinner, but Remover.
3) Score the aluminum finish with a green scratch pad.
4) Primer the valve cover with Krylon (preferred) gray primer.
5) Paint the valve cover with rustoleum paint. We used a metallic silver/brownish color.
Make sure there isnt any dust or debris in the bottom of your valve cover when you reinstall. Also, make sure and mask off the threads for your oil fill cap and mask off the spark plug cylinder housings on the valve cover.

I can find out the exact color if you want, the paint isn't at my house though. It's a silver/brown metallic though, it looks awesome in person.

That's funny, I've been wanting to paint my valve cover camo for a few months now but have no idea how to do it. Anybody got any tips on how to paint camo?

first spray the cover the base color, like the dark green.
then masking tape or cut out a stencil of the designs and spray the other colors by layering.
My LS motor was sporting an urban camo valve cover.
For a while, me and a couple of friends were trying to see who could have the ugliest valve covers. You havent seen anything till you see a type R motor w/ a gay pastel green valve cover. lol
Anyway, another guy and myself ended up w/ camo covers and it just kinda grew on me.
Although, I think my next motor is gonna have more of a traditional camo sceme.

Some guy here around Nashville is running a B-series VTEC motor in his Civic w/ a camo valve cover (brown, green, black, the regular type). lilhibbs on this site has his B17 valve cover painted that same silver-brown color. It kinda has a bronze look to it.
