Wow, how cool. I love those cars for some reason. I think this may be my next project after Im done with the hondas--well I will always love hondas. Im all about different styles and different looks. Hell my first hybrid swap was a 400hp small block chevy s10 pickup!
Good luck with it, it seems to be coming along nicely

200sx and Sentra SERs have the SR20DE motor which is FWD non-turbo. You can swap in a bluebird SSS SR20DET in those (FWD)

In a 240sx you swap in the Nissan Silvia SR20DET RWD version...very well built strong internals stock...which is what you see here...

A local welder fabbed it up and welded it out of stainless.

Kinda expensive... but it fits correctly and was easier (and cheaper) to get than an aftermarket intercooler/piping kit for the car.

My brother's site/company is at http://www.heavythrottle.com .

They have a company that mandrel bends pipe for them and also can get most Greddy JDM products for Nissan's.

They might be able to hook you up.

Well... the harness was hacked, the valve cover was scratched up, plug cover was cracked, no ECU.... but I think my friend made out ok with the deal...

I has a strange clunking at start up that happens when cold or hot... it lasts for ~5 sec. and then goes away..

A few weeks in the garage with cleaning supplies = nice clean motor.

How can you tell from pictures it's a ball bearing turbo? Or does all SR20DETs come with ball bearing turbos?

What kind of turbo is that also Garrett etc? Ball bearing turbos do not use a film of oil for center shaft lubrication? Does not need oil?

All S14's and S15's come with Ball Bearing Garrett T28's.

Just because a turbo is Ball Bearing doesn't mean it doesn't use oil!

I wish..

The ball bearings help combat wear, spools up quicker, and last longer than a non-BB unit.

All turbos have oil lubrication.
Most turbos have water cooling.
