Default My CTR Pistons Wont Fit My B16A2 Rods??

I have new ctr pistons and they wont fit my b16a2 rods??
The rod is to wide at the top to fit up into the piston its self?

I'm sure removing part of the rod would be the smartest possible thing you can do .... or you could buy new rods and rod bolts and upgrade out of necessity. But no, you're right, you should shave them. Structural integrity is for ricers.

No, you moron. Obviously sarcasm is lost on you.

You need different rods.

Shaving the rod will not decrease structural integrity. This process is done alot on LS/VTEC setups and has yet to cause any problems as long you get it a reputable machine shop to do the precision machining. There are no other rods that will fit into your block and it is difficult to use for instance an eagle rod with a CTR piston, sure it can be done but that will be more expensive so.. HAVE YOUR RODS SHAVED PROFESSIONALLY AND YOU SHOULD BE OKAY!

Why is using an Eagle or TT rod with a CTR piston difficult?

Because it fits a smaller budget (aka the people using the shaved rods are probably on too tight a budget to really be replacing pistons in the car in the first place).

you need to shave 1mm off each side of the small end of the rod. that's not a lot of material.

because stock rods use press fit wrist pins. aftermarket forged rods use full floating pins. you can make it work, but why not just upgrade to forged pistons at the same time?

those are too long

If you are using oem rods from your b16a2, then you don't have CTR pistons, you have ITR pistons. CTR are drop in where as ITR are shave required.
