Default Mahle Gold Series H22 Pistons - Couple ?'s

First of all, how are these pistons quality wise and will they hold up for a long time in a N/A engine with just some cams. Ive searched around on here and a few sites but didnt find a whole lot of info about these in N/A engines, i saw one thread where some guys engine blew pushing out over 300whp but he was FI. My engine is an H22a swap with ~60k miles.

Secondly if i were to get these i would get 11.5:1 CR, but what all would be required if i wanted to get them. Would new rods be necesary? Honing? Anything else?

I am trying to see if it would be worth it to get these pistons, because i just plan on doing a few things internally. Im not going big, dont have the money for that or i would just go turbo. If these pistons are worth it i am going to get some stage 3 Brian Crower cams and valvetrain, if not i am just going to get the stage 2s and VT. I have a VAFC that came with my car when i bought it but i think i am going to ditch it for Hondata s200.

Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

Search for the term "mahle" in the all motor forum. 90% of people who run these pistons are stock sleeve H22 owners. You should find all the information you need like that.

There are 2 other threads other than this one with "mahle" in them in recent posts in the All Motor forum - none came up in archived. I did however search the entire forum and still did not find a whole lot. Like 99% of feedback is on FI applications.

What i got out of everything is just that honing is probably a good idea. I am still not sure about everything else. What parts are required for these if any? Do they work fine on all stock parts or are others necesary? Thanks.

Search for "mahle" in archived post bodies. There's like 60 results and at a quick glance, there were similar questions to yours. I have worked on a few H22's but nothing internally on the bottom end. I'm more of a Bseries guy. But, still trying to offer whatever help I can.
