Best Turbo Diesel I-4 I have heard, HELP!
Ok here is how it goes.
1. Replace oil in car with Synthetic (mobil 1) at 11K miles.
2. 12k miles maintance required light come on --->thinks its just for the oil? (I interupted the previous every three thousand miles cycle when I did that)
3. Car is now at 13.5K miles and at idle the car sounds like its the sweetest I-4 turbo diesel around, is this a problem/should I be concerned
note:
A.I know synthetic makes the valvetrain a lil noiser but didn't think it would be this noisy.
B. I put 4.5 qts. (4.5 "containers" searching for word sorry) in the car at oil change.
C.everything is/was put back into the proper place when oil change occured.
Just wanted to know before i took the car to the dealership, I don't like them having them put their hands all over my baby
although it has to go in i need the clutch fluid drained and changed. Just do that out of habit now. TIA

I've been on Mobil1 synthetic for 20K miles now and I don't notice any noise increase. The only time my car sounded like a diesel was when I first attempted and botched a valve adjustment, and had one valve clearance left at .030"+ clearance (spec being .007
).
