Default Dyno: B16A + JRSC - 250whp/160tq

Here is a graph of a friend of mine that came in to get a new tune on his daily driver. Stock ignition system so the topend started missing. Some day we will put on an external coil and redyno. Car drives and runs great, I was really surprised at the power we made with his setup.

Stock B16A
Comptech 4-2-1 Header
AEM CAI
JRSC for B16A Civic Si
CRV pulley + 8lb JRSC pulley = ~11.5lb

Tuned using Crome Pro w/RC 550's.

What he said. I'd do some minor maintenance: cap, rotor, plugs, etc. Nice numbers.

This is Actually my car, It's only a CRV crank Pulley with a stock nose pulley. It's a kit for an ITR. We are running BPR7e-11 plugs gaped at 28. We tried different plug wires, new cap, rotor etc... and it didn't fix the problem. The af is perfect, so that leads us to the stock ignition system. As Marshall stated, the mods are, the blower, itr throttle body, jdm b16a, omnipower valvetrain. Self ported manifold by me to clean up the crappy casting from Jackson, AEM cold air, Comptech header, 2.25 omni test pipe and factory itr B-Pipe to a spoon N-1 axle back. Just wait till we upgrade the ignition, play with the cam gears, add a different header, 2.5 test pipe and b pipe! Chris at intec tuned it and it runs perfect! This is just a real strong motor as it made 181 and 113 to the wheels with the same mods and bc3+ skunk pro intake manifold when it was just on the motor. Chrome Pro and Chris's tuning is the key. My Buddy Weller and I finished it up 10 hours before going to the dyno in our usual last minute style! Thanks for all the late nights again Swell.

To answer the traction question, with 205-40-17 RA1's it sucks till third gear... But god it's fun.

In the mid 140's. It also has a Hondata IMG. And it was a crappy 58 degree Seattle day. This also has 2000 itr cams.

Your intake temps are pretty low for 11 psi.

I would look at the plugs , make sure it's not pinging in the upper rpm first then try a little tighter gap.

Those intake temps are NOTHING compared to others SC apps I have seen. I have a friend that has a GSR with the JRS kit, with the smaller nose pully (8lb I think), and it made only 180whp on a completely stock GSR bottom end with 160k on the clock. Intake temps were skyrocketing to over 190F. This was on a balmy 90F texas evening.

well i guess i am just used to turbo IAT's i was only about 10-20* above ambient at 24psi... i know the superchargers produce way more heat but it just warrants better cooling IMO

Its not a plug gap issue. i was running plugs gapped to .32 when I had my jrsc. I was making 15 psi, using stock ignition, and it wasnt breaking up. Car made 303whp 250 wtq with intake temps around 185(non-intercooled).

I still don't think it's a stock ignition issue. Is there anyway water got down the plug holes? The only time i've misfired is when that happened. I have my plugs gapped at .028 and I have 248whp and 213wtq @ 12 psi.

No chance of Water in the plug holes. I don't know what else to try other than an msd at this point.

Yep 140 seems pretty low for a car that doesnt run the lht system.

stock ignitions can handle up to 400 hp easy.
My b18c with a JRSC made 210whp and 150ft/lbs
i got rid of it soon after and went turbo. I was very dissapointed

In my opinion that just shows the reason so many people think jrsc don't make power. Tuning obviously is so important unlike the way Jackson makes it out as being a bolt on and go.

On another note... Where do you think I should gap the plugs to?

I would keep them around .30. This doesn't have the crazy torque onset that a turboed car has, it isn't going to blow the spark out like a turboed car would.

Give Jackson a call.. i bet they recommend a much higher gap than I just mentioned.

Looks good!

I bet the IAT's where going a bit over 140 (most setups i have seen hit around 200) expecially at that rpm. Your stock ignition should be fine. Chris definatly knows what hes doing. I'd either try an "intercooler" or water injection. Most likely it is detonation
