Default Video: Ferrari chase at VIR

Someday I'll get all my video's into a single post. Someday.

Anyway, after some traffic on the straight under the bridge I got to follow this Ferrari up through the uphill S's. I went through the S's in 4th, nowhere close to 120.
He surprised me braking going into 10 (sissy),
and I almost bought a Ferrari rear end going into oak tree. Of course he blew me away on the straight. Got cought in a bunch of traffic at the end.
Unlike the Cobra R guy, this guy didn't seem interested in talking to anybody. Maybe he was too busy trying to figure out how to fix his busted tranny!

[EDIT]Update: The car is a 360 challenge with the GT wing ....not an f430 challenge. (thx chris1866)

damnit that ferrari sounded awesome...and to be able to hear it over your exhaust and wind must mean it was freaking loud as hell too lol....pretty sad to think that his engine costs more than most of the cars on the track.

Missing a headlight, thus the wind noise, but you can hear his car without my exhaust droning it out.

If it was an F430 Challange car it weighs about 2700 lbs and has 490 hp and 343 lb.ft of torque and runs on 19" wheels with pirelli slicks. I'm sure it has more to do with driver than car at that point.

And I absolutely agree. There are C5's, M3's and 911's that car for car should have handed me my *** on a platter. But instead I end up getting a point by and confused look on their face. Of course when on the track I'm pushing the car and myself at close to 100% (Probably me more then the car). I'm sure that if I was in a supercar that cost more then 8 times my yearly salary, I probably wouldn't be driving it 100%.
Mmm, who am I kidding? Yes, I would drive the **** out of that thing!

Props to Don raising hell with the Ferrari ...

Just so know ... looks to be a Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale ... The F430 Challenge has a couple differences on the tail (brake light location, exhaust location, etc.)

The Ferrari 360 GT came with that big azz wing ... but I'm guessing this guy just threw it on his Challenge car.

The car is a 360 challenge with the GT wing ....not an f430 challenge.
The reason you can tell it's a 360 challenge with a GT wing and not a real 360 GT (also known as a 360 NGT) is because the GT has a huuuge rear diffuser and the challenge does not. Also the sound. It's a high pitched "whine" most commonly associated with the F355. The car prob has a capristo or kriesegg exhaust system (people sometimes install these on challenge cars). The 360 GT is straight piped and has a much lower, more raspy sound.

(P.S. mrlegoman Ferrari = "challenge" Porsche = "Cup")

Cool vid

It's a sense of satisfaction that all the time, effort and money you've put into the car as well as the time and effort spent on training yourself as a driver has somehow sorta paid off.
He may have left everyone in the dust in the straights, but for 30 seconds I can say I owned his ***. (And if it wasn't for a couple of quick braking procedures I think I would have literally bought myself a Ferrari rear end )

Ah, warm fuzzies in my belly.

Jason, helms and you though have a general idea of how the other drives and a certain level of trust in each others abilities. I didn't know this guy from Adam, his braking going into 10 confused me, so I didn't dare get any closer.
