Are the JDM and USDM ITR Muffler's the Same?
As stated, are the JDM and USDM ITR Axleback's exactly the same?
The Baffles in my OEM muffler are shot, and it needs to be replaced, and I have the choice to get either one.
Tried searching and got no answers.
there is only 1 small difference: JDM ITR muffler in the tip area has a tab welded on, for the tip, while the USDM do not have it. Can/mufflers them selves are identical w/ same part number stamped. For all purposes they are definatly interchangable without any issues.

The 97 ITR mufflers have that tab, the 98+ do not. I havent figured out any diff other than that either.

Are the Pipe dimensions the same on the 2 or is the ITR larger going in and coming out of the muffler? Is so can you give me a measurement? I think I got a GSR one my outside pipe dimensions aren't 60 mm
So just so we are all clear, that muffler tab on the 97s and JDM mufflers makes you go faster right? I am positive inside that tab you will find the muffler bearings.
Actually the corner weights of the car were off by 2 oz so they added the tab and if you look closely you can see it actually adds down force to that corner. On the USDM version the weights were so off with the driver being on the left side and all they didn't bother.
Can anyone give me a exact measurement outside pipe dimensions right at the muffler please?

The only useless information I don't mind is for DC2R's

98 spec jdm itr mufflers do not have the tab, only the jdm 96 spec's have it, plus the tip on the 96 specs are a hair longer than the 98
