The car is a BLAST to drive!
Ok bear with me... I've been up for almost 30hrs.
I got my kit last week, and sent my ECU to Hondata immediately. They reflashed it with the Comptech program on Thursday and it was delivered back at my house Friday morning. Or course I was working, so I had to wait until 5pm to go home and get it back in the car along with the battery.
So while still at work, Tai from Corsport calls me, and we meet up so he can give me my Carbing tower bar. I run and pick it up while at lunch, I figure it'd be a good idea to install it when I'm already taking the car apart.
I get home, reinstall the ECU and battery, and then load up my car with all the required accouterments and head on out.
Next, I drive to a nearby Honda dealership where my friend works, and he kindly flushed my A/C system.
Originally, that same friend was going to assist with the install, and let us use Honda's lifts, but he pooped out at the last minute. No biggie..
I call up another buddy and he tells me to come on down to his garage, and I oblige.
Get there around 7:30-8pm and finally get to working around the same time. The install was not too bad, but Comptech missed a few things in the install guide, forgot to include 1 important bolt and we had a hell of a time getting the oil filter off, which set us back a bit.
But we get it all installed and whatnot, with those minimal hiccups. (Missing bolt in kit, 2-4 missed steps in the instructions, and oh... that ************ of an oil filter that decided it DID NOT want to be removed. ) It literally took us 4-5 hours to get the piece of **** off.
So finally at about 8:00am this morning, we are ready to fire. What did I forget to do? Reconnect the electrical connectors for the fuel pump... Yea we need that... Back seats out once more! I don't know what time we finally finished.
First Experience:
In a single expression: OMGWTFBBQ
The car is a new animal. It has WAY more power and pickup and a sweet sweet whine to boot. First place we went was to the car wash. I hate greasy pawprints on my paint.
Leaving the car wash, I give a little extra gas in 1st, and tires break loose just about instantly. Since I'm not yet sure what to do with my new found power, I let off the gas and my meeting with a curb was averted.
I continued to romp a little bit for a few minutes before dropping my buddy off. Now here I sit, writing, trying to keep my eyes open, with a RIDICULOUS vehicle in my garage. The thing sounds, and acts like a mean ************!
Note:
The following things I DESPISE the FG2 for:
1. Why is the goddamn motor in my dashboard?! If I ever need to change plugs again, I need to remove my wipers, plastics, cowl, tower bar, and metal cowl piece. Not to mention the retarded death trap for nuts and sockets behind the cowl in the corners of the A pillars.
2. Who had the bright idea to put the access door for the fuel tank right in the middle of the trunk and back seats?!
3. Who the expletive invented the fuel delivery system? I felt like I was performing a lab experiment when removing the device from the tank. NOT a pleasant job whatsoever.
4. Oil filter = please kill yourself.
Ok, on to the juicy stuff. Ok only 10% juice....
As I'm sure you know, working on cars gets dirty. I'd rather not take a DSLR anywhere near a shop. Next best thing, camera phone!

Yea I don't recall it being that loud either. I may have to investigate further.
You're right about the videos, but they are almost better than no videos

I'll try to get some real video tonight.

VTEC window was changed to 3000 RPM. I do miss the crazy vtec crossover, but hondata knows best.

Alot of people say the SI has no power down low well yea it dosent have alot of torque at low revs but i think it pulls hard no matter what revs i am at. I mean its my first honda i guess after a while i will get use to it and it wont seem as powerful but at this point in time it feels really strong even at 3500 to 4500 rpm before the vtec party starts.
Congrats on the setup. It looks/sounds amazing. My s/c comes in this thursday, and I was surprised to read about you having to remove the rear seats. Is this a necessity during install?
Thanks,
Chris

According to Hondata, 3000 is just right for the setup. As far as fuel economy, I'm pretty sure it has not changed. I've only used 1/3 tank so far and I'm at about 100 miles into it. I usually get 300 to a tank, and I romp on it often.

I disagree. Before the S/C my Si had no low end. If I didn't downshift, I wouldn't go anywhere until VTEC.

Removing the lower rear seat is required, and removing the seatbacks would make it all even easier, but I didn't need to.
The car pulls ******* hard. I've already added some decent competitors to my kills list.
Took some videos tonight, and will hopefully have them converted and uploaded soon...

Beautiful monster there j.fuggi! I'm in awe of the newfound power you got from the drop-in kit, and it really makes me want to go with the SC...but I'm trying to keep my car NA. And if I want to keep my warranty, I won't be doing anything with my engine.
(side note: I think that if you ever do have problems with your engine and want to use your warranty, that you could remove your SC and take it into a dealship, but would you want to?? And would the dealership notice?)

In that first clip how fast were you going and what gear did you drop into and take off. I dont have sound at work
. That thing looked like it took off like a rocket. I cant stop watching it. Big

Damn, I can't connect to your video from Amsterdam. I really want to hear this thing.
I have order my SC, comptech is going to ship it once I call them on my return from Europe.
I am also waiting for the Comptech short header, so I can get them both installed at the same time.
Couple questions:
1. Do you see and issues with having this SC on a daily driver?
2. What Cat-back, header and intake did you use?
3. What was the size of the bolt missing from the kit? I am not doing the install myself, but I am sure this is information my mechanics will need.
Congrats and Thanks in advance for your response.

I don't know exactly, but probably 30-45mph when I dropped into 2nd.

Have you tried all the video links? Try the direct download from my website, and download the divx player from divx.com. Or... try the google video link here.
1. I see no issues. Maybe fuel economy if you romp on it often, because it sounds like my injectors are reaaallly pumping fuel, but so far I haven't noticed a decrease in mpg.
2. GReddy EVO2 catback, stock header, and AEM CAI
3. It was one of the M10x70 bolts I believe. I don't know if it's missing from all kits, but it was from mine.
