I had an idea. Since your oil pressure light in your car is just a dummy light that comes on around ~5psi, your motor would already be toast...would it be possible to hook up these pressure switches from autometer to warn you of eminent failure? like tape into your oil feed with the 15psi pressure switch (#3241) and send that wire to your oil light?

and hook up the 220 degree temp switch to your water lines to warn you of over heating. most people in the middle of road racing, dragging, whatever, forget to look at their gauges. But I always find myself looking at my cluster. If the light came on, it would be a "hint" to get off the gas and check your gauges before you kill your motor.

That is a great option versus expensive dephi gauges or etc.
$17 for a pressure switch ? That is nice, some diy and for around 130 you can have oil press, water temp mechanical gauges along with warning lights.


So what levels?? 15 psi and 220??

 

Thats a good idea. Nice thinking. Why dont you try for a patent on this idea. It just might be your ticket.
