i used regular high temp flat black paint i got from pep boys and sprayed a few coats on ....worked like a charm and has yet to chip in the year or so its been painted. i never sanded it down just painted it and let it dry

thats what im looking for discretion! although the trained eye will know any way but im just trying to keep a lower profile. imo i think it looks nice, did you look at the ebay link i posted? thats a slant exhaust, painted black. i'm just sick of having a chromy exhaust too many red light confritations, cops following for no reason, etc... i don't need anymore attention than the car already gets.

i am, what i did was pick up this vht brand grey high temp engine paint from the local speed shop, they told me thats what they use for primer for high temp applications, although it can be used as the primary paint. (looks like iron color) i'm doing 2-3 layers of that then 2-3 (or more) of the flat black.

you know i was counting the seconds before someone said this, can anyone do anything w/ out everyone elses approval? if you dont like it fine, at least its different than WHAT OTHERS are doing right? i'm just sick of all the attention i get from cops and ricers alike, it's tough enough driving around and getting dirty looks from people cause of the stereo types and what not, i'm not doing this to please anyone BUT MYSELF. i'm trying to attract less attention, don't need it, iv'e never really seen a need for a big 3" chrome tip or canister.,

yup... if i were a cop, i would notice a muffler painted black even more because i would wonder why the owner did that.

oh come on now, thats a little paranoid no? leave the muffler chrome cause its reverse phycology on the cop? no matter what cops will always be more attentive to our crowd, i just think w/ it black it'll attract less....

Hey man don't get me wrong but its cool and all that you want to paint your exhaust black to "not attract more attention" but you know what?...your still gonna get attention. Unless your Ex Coupe is ALL STOCK, meaning stock height, stock wheels, stock everything your still gonna get spotted. Painting your exhaust ain't gonna do **** for ya.

Especially since now this is the beginning of a new fad and everybody will be doing it. I'll stick with my *bling bling* N1 thank you very much!

ok shes painted! went to the store, bought some simple green and some s.o.s pads for the surface prep, sprayed about 2-3 coats of the hightemp grey (1200 degree paint w/ ceramic) and about 3-4 coats of high heat flat black, looks real good i'm letting it dry overnight so it can cure real good, i'll get the digi from my friend and post some pics.
