Same car sells in NZ for around 7-11k USD. Imported tariff-free into NZ from JP. These cars are being bought from the same market (JP) and brought to the US to try and capitalize on the supposed value of "RHD Type Rs". It's BS, they're a dime a dozen outside the US.

my friend is very interested in the car. he has a CW 97 JDM ITR with 5-lug and freshly powdercoated 16" JDM ITR wheels, and 98+ OEM HID headlights. car also has a CF spoon lip and hood. the car has a US title and current registration. it has also been converted to meet US OBD2 emissions requirements and includes a 98 USDM ITR ECU.
He would be willing to trade you straight across for this red car as it sits, un-registered. He would also be willing to drive his car out to you in the Bay Area.
