Motor Break-in question !
I am at about 615 miles as i type on my SI ive done prob 75% of highway driving and the rest all streets. Ive hit vtec atleast 10 times during 1st gear and 4th gear evenly but ive never punched it in every gear and i havent done more then 90 mph. I am asking will this lower the motor life because ive hit vtec a few times from what i was told and seen these motor are close to being bulletproof. Ive read the manual and from what my salesman told me just dont rev out every gear to redline etc for the first 700 miles. I havent done any of this but i learned stick on this car so the clutch has taken a bit of abuse. I just want to hear it from Knowledgeable honda people that this is normal to hit vtec a couple of times and it wont alter any engine life.

I waited until upper 700s before I hit vtec, and even then I only did it once until almost 1000 miles. I think it just helps stuff seal better if you drive it soft til its broke in, but im not sure, some people go ***** to the wall as they pull off the dealer lot.
