SNAP!!!!!! oversteer
Now I know what people were talking about when they said my car may be prone to snap oversteer with the big rear sway bar and no front.
Coming from downtown took an onramp to our main HWY. Nice right bend, 2 lanes wide.
Thanks god for the 2 lanes.
Entered the turn around 120 ish (km/h not mph), **** end starts to walk around on me. FACK!!!!
Somehow manage to keep it under control and came out the other end about 3 inches from the left side curb.
Pointed it straight and kept going. 2F2F Tokyo drift aint got nuthin on me......
My mods are in the sig - what would best suit me to get oversteer under control?
A front sway bar, or better spring/shock combo?

Yes a 26mm si front swaybar would help a lot. Getting stiffer springs would be good too since pro-kit rates are pretty soft, especially in the rear so that bar is doing a lot of work. What will also help stiffining up the front are korbach frame locks, check those out.

agreed! generally when i have this problem at the track or autox ive taught myself to no let off so abruptly on the gas and more throttle. however i dont suggest this on an off ramp.

Actually, I went into it really smooth, kept about 50% throttle - did everything the same as I have in the past - just now I have the rear ITR bar. (was only installed 2 days ago)
Ah well, I'm not really complaining per se, more inquiring what I could do to minimize the chances of it re-occuring.
But MAN IT WAS FUN!!!!!!

with that setup you can just never let off the gas. just keep it floored
if it starts to understeer let off a bit on the throttle and get the rear to walk then hit the gas again to weight the rearend.
not a good idea to just rocket into a turn and then try to let off throttle/brake, once you are turning the car in. will come out on you in a Flash
26mm front is kinda big. maybe try a 22mm or something

1. Slow the f*ck down on the streets
2. Go to the track and learn the limits of your car, and how to control them

This is not called "snap-oversteer", snap oversteer is where your *** is flying where you have no chance toreact or correct. if you have time to manage and control then it's not snap oversteer...dont get the wrong term in people's head....
If you got a fatass rear sway bar without the front you should already ask for oversteer which in your case no suprise that happens.

A couple orders of that for me please

My setup would kill you. The pro kit spring rates are nothing, and a 22mm bar w/o a front isn't that bad either. Koni SPSS3 shocks, with lets say a rear biased spring rate, and a 22mm bar is what I run. There are 3 different bumps in the freeway that cause my back wheels to jump off of the ground on my way to the office. But if your setup is too loose for you, try adding a front sway bar. If that doesn't eliminate it, have the rear tires toed in a little bit. Lastly, use the air pressure in you tires to fine tune your ride.

Those are my next 2 steps. Front bar first.
As for a car jumping down the freeway, no thanks. It is my daily driver, and I dont want to have to see a chiropractor at this point of my life....

I guess you kind of get used to it... besides, California's roads will make anybody's car jump sometimes. Good luck with everything.

Rear tires are at 33psi (cold) fronts at 35psi (cold). Camber is -1.2 front, and -1 rear. Toe is 1/4 inch out up front, and 0 in the rear. Street tire are Kumho 712's, non-street Toyo RA-1s
(with a different suspension, and alignment setup, and different tire pressure)

You have oversteer problems, and you're trying to correct it in the front of the car? Your issue is with the rear end, fix the rear end.
Also, its a public street, maybe you hit a patch of oil or coolant someone leaked behind them. It doesn't take much when you are driving all whacky on the streets. Unlike at the track where you have corner workers letting you know ahead of time of dangerous conditions up ahead, and cleanup crews to soak up patches of oil and coolant and safety workers all over the place....
