Out of those 3 I would pick my HA's again. Love the quality and performance. I would take Zeal B6's over my HA's. I like mugen bt if I were to roll on a set it would be NZero's

To me the mugen although really nice doesn't offer as much in the way of flexibility and price. You can get TEIN HA's for a lot less than you used to be able to. The zeals are nice and they do come with upper mounts I believe but cost more than TEIN's.

Can't really go wrong with any of these. I am backwards in my opinions from most that will reply. I do like Mugen just not their suspension. Rated R has then band does real well at auto-x with them.

My order is TEIN, Zeal, Mugen.

The TEIN's are selling for $1090 plus shipping from TEIN North AMerica. Might be had for less.

The Zeals are about $1480 from R&D Motorsports.

The Mugen Low down is $1450 from King and these are NOT coilovers like the other 2 (FYI)

Do Zeal and Mugen and hell everyone else (BC, Apex, etc.) offer pillow ball mounts with their shocks? Standard or extra? Tein includes them for ~$250 right? WHat about the other guys? tia.

sack-who just picked up a set of ha's with piwwoes for $950 1 month used + is happy.

I have had HA's and didnt like them.

I would go with the Mugen over the other 2 because

1. You throw them on, and your done. You dont have to wrry about adjsting them.

2. Why do you need all of the extra adjustment with the other 2 mentioned? Unless you REALLY know what your doing then its a waste.

I have owned a set of TEIN NA's and TEIN HA's and used TEIN for the last 3 years and love them. I have looked at other suspensions and I really like the build and design of the Zeal's (SPecifically the B6's).

What didn't you like?

2) I really liked corner weighting my suspension cause unlike basic springs I control how well balanced the car is. doesn't cost much to corner weight and is easy to do.

Most of us are talking street cars right? Pillow ball mounts are overkill to some extent. That being said the Zeal PBM's use rubber bushings and are supposed to provide a decent ride. THe TEIN's are Poly and are su[pposed to make the ride vs no PBM's very rough.

I think that PBM's are farther beyond needed for performance than adjustable height shocks. I would much rather be able to corner weight than have a slightly stiffer upper mount.

Just my thoughts. I have had a lot of luck with TEIN's but woudl buy Zeals if the B6's were priced right. Considering TEIN's recent price drop not much is priced right compared to them now.

Agreed, as cheap as the HA's are now it would be hard to pass them up.

I payed almost $1400 for my about a year ago and don't regret it at all, it's a great product.

You might also want to consider JIC coilovers, been hearing good things about them lately.

They started to rust. I switched to the bilsteins / GCs and on the track the car felt great! The HA's were about 1600 when I bought them 2 years ago. I would still buy the Bilsteins and GCs any day over the HA's even at 1090, or whatever they are now.

Most people are NOT going to take the time to corner weight the car. For the average person, I think the Mugens would be a better buy.

What are the differences between the Tein models, EG: Tein HA's, Tein NA's and i've heard of a few other models, whats the differences?

Also, what are the differences of the Zeal models?

How is the mugen setup "setup" is it really stiff, and just rides ok, or is it really smooth with a decent ride?

I would think for $400 less and the ability to corner weight the HA's would be a much more attractive choice. Corner weighting is an EASY EASY thing to do and why woudl someoen spend $1000+ on suspension and NOT corner weight? The whole point of a coilover is balance of the car not specifically marginal control of the height of the car. Would you argue the Low downs are better for performance than the HA's? I have only seen the low downs on Rated R's car and not in person off a car. I think the HA's are just as good as the Low Dow's and have some features that make them more attractive.

Actually the Tein HA are being replaced by the SS kit and the Flex kits. SS is same shock but with single spring instead of dual. Price lower too. Still 16 way adjustable and fully ride height adjustable. Fantastic value. You also have the new Flex kit. This comes with pillow ball mounts and has stroke adjustability. On the Flex kit you can also add the EDFC which allows you to control the shock dampening from inside the car with a 1/4 DIN controller box. Very slick and not expensive.
