Default I need to know which cams to go with in my 2000 gsr: ITR or CTR?

Like every other tuner out there, I need more power. I want to stay with oem and dont know what to go with because my gsr is still sock. All I have is MSD wires and a spoon sports air filter. Will my valvetrain hold up with these Type r cams? Since its stock I want to play it safe and not f-up my motor. I was also thinking about skunk pro series stage 1..... maybe?

oem cams are no fun... go big or go home. might want to consider an itr style intake manifold and a tune with the new cams.

u will be ok with either. it's really up to you. i know everyone will at least suggest you to upgrade your valve springs, but it'll be ok as long as you don't set your cam gears too aggressive.

00-01 itr and ctr cams = exact same thing

and they only have 3 degrees more duration on the intake side when compared to previous year itr's. you'll only need to upgrade the valvesprings with these cams if you'll be revving higher than stock. skunk2 pro1's would be better with a built motor.

either or, i have CTR's in my car and they work great, but i am under boost, and i am still running the stock valve train, and before i went boost i had skunk2 stage 1 cams running on stock valve train, as long as you aren't going to rev over yoru stock redline u don't need to up the valve train, i would only go over stock redline if i am makin power that high or there is no point
