Default Rear shoes for 88-91 Drums?

I'm looking for something to match up with my Hawk HP+ pads in the front. Do you know of any brands that make rear shoes that would work? I have a 90 Civic STD with stock drums in the rears.
Thanks!

You can also call carbotech, I spoke with Larry from carbotech, a couple weeks ago and they can make a pad or shoe for almost any car.

You really wont need anything more than OEM replacement shoes. Your front brakes will do most of the braking and you really dont want too much braking power from the rear. I would just go down to a local parts store and order some replacements. They will be more than sufficient and save you some money. Use the left over money to either replace your drums or have them resurfaced.

I disagree. I ran the OEM shoes on my CRX racecar and I could fade them. I upgraded to the mildest compound Carbotech offers and have been using them ever since. Since my car is so light, I actually had to resort to a proportioning valve to keep the rears from locking up, but now that I have everything dialed in I'm very happy.

I agree with Smokin Rubber. Larry can put together some shoes for you. I have a 90 Dx with drums in the rear and I use Hawk Blues on the front for track stuff (swap them on and off at the track). I use the NAPA cheap OE street shoes and haven't ever had a problem with brake fade. The fronts do most of the work and a stock shoe in the rear works well for me. It all depends on what your particular car is doing. If you have a problem with fading or boiling the fluid, upgrade. If not spend the money on something else.

Thanks guys, I do understand MOST of the braking IS done in the front, but getting into my my friends 510 before and after he did the rear shoes, there IS a difference you can feel. Not a big one, but one that can be felt from stock to Porterfield.
I'm thinking of calling up porterfield and seeing what they have.
would a simple "MILD" compound be bad for these HF aluminum drums i have?

As stated above, the rears do very little braking, especially when on track. I have run Napa street shoes and now, OEM Honda shoes on my ITC CRX and cannot notice a difference. At Blackhawk Farms, we run 3" cooling ducts to the front rotors to keep from welding the brake pad backing plates to the caliper pistons or bending the backing plates. We run Hawk Blues on the front currently and love these.

You can get some custom shoes made though Carbotech with whatever shoe material you desire
