the LS has longer gears which is a plus for a turbo set up. if you are only adding a drag gen 3 and not really looking to boost the hell out of it, i would stick with the gsr tranny. the LS tranny is a good upgrade for the gsr engine.
I'm going to replace the clutch on my hybrid Drag3-GSR and my LS at the same time, that's why I'm thinking of switching the trannies.
just stick with gsr tranny...it really depends on what you want to do....
LS and GS-R has it's advantages and disadvantages...
wether you want it for track uses or highway racing off of a roll....

Would it be advisable for this guy to look for an ITR tranny? Yes it's got shorter gearing, but he gets the ITR LSD..
Or is it smarter/cheaper/whatever to go with a GSR and a new Quaiffe?

itr or b16 tranny would be best for under 90mph. great for the stoplight warrior/street racer/autox'er. bad for top end/gas mileage. for the 1/4 mile i'd stick with the gsr. i'd use a ls only for highway races, 125mph and up.
LS tranny is simply awefull. good on paper, bad in real life.

you should trade someone even up for your tranny. you get the gsr. and put in some springs and retainers and bump your rev limit to 8000. i think you'll like that.

so u dont think its bad to rev an LS bottem end to 8k? without girdle? u dont think there would be alot of dangerous side load? hey, id like to accelerate faster and rev higher, "be faster" but im just trying to figure out the simplest most effective way to get there. I was just thinking 15psi and 104 octane would get the job done nicely

yeah, but reving to even just 7500 will do alot more to keep you in your powerband. i'd still do both.

nice mods.
