Default Cam Gear install

Ok so I picked up some AEM Cam Gears that I plan on installing this weekend. What I want to know is what to do to install them. Do I have to remove the timing belt all together, or can I adjust the tensioner enough to slide the belt off the gears and install them that way.

I personally think it would be much easier if I dont have to take the pulleys off.

you can just loosen the tensioner and slide the belt off.

Ya thats what I thought. screw paying some guys to do it. They wanted like $100 to do that. I think they quoted me at like $295 for Skunk2 cam gears and the work. This did include cutting the valve cover. I dont know tho maybe its worth it cause they have to cut the cover. I would prefer the moon cut instead of the straight cut across.
Right now I can probably pick up some AEM cam gears for around $150 or so give or take $10. So it all depends on how much money I have left over this weekend for the tuneing which is like $100.
If I can get the shop to cut my valve cover for less then $50 I will be set.
I like the way this looks the best.

Ya I know. I was bidding on one then the auction closed for some unknown reason with no winners. I'm not going to be bidding for that person anymore because of this. Looks to me like hes selling stuff he dosent have which makes me worry. e-bay is notorious for people like that.

Yup thats what I'm looking for. I think I will just have the shop cut my original valve cover tho. I'm going to bring in a picture and see what they can do.

anyone think its worth buying one of the newer valve covers and then maybe selling mine? (I got an 01 GSR with 11 K it but I want the red) Itll cost 215 for a new one, or its 55 if I get a red cover and send it to them.

They sell those on E-bay and usually go for around $175-$195 with the plastic guard. I'm just on a budget and I dont want to really wait another two weeks for tuning. So I'm debating on what I need first.
This auction is currently at $135 if you want to bid.

Honda Bond is ghasket sealant. You will need to clean your ghasket and apply some on the corners where ghasket curves for the cams.
