Trying to find out what the quickest FWD powered vehicle (preferbly honda) is too date so far.
Looking on NHRA's website the quickest is a Colbait running 7.12 @202mph

Well, the second quickest is going to be the Cavalier of Ron Townsend that used to be driven by Nelson Hoyos. Basically, the world's quickest front wheel drives are GM's. Gary Gardella, Bryan Jimenez, Ron Lummus, Jason Hunt, Marty Ladwig and Lisa Kubo (former Saturn Ecotec pilot) are/were all consistent 7 second cars. I can't leave out the world champion Ed Bergenholtz, carrying the load for the piston driven Mazda crowd. The former AEM Civic (which is now the Honda Accord of Jerrold Rhodes), came close (8.06, was it? I can't remember) to the 7's, but there still isn't a front wheel drive Honda that's done it......YET (Jerrold????). Gary Gardella came close while he was still in his Honda (8.0X@180+mph) but never got there. Last but certainly not least, I can't leave out Shaun Carlson, who drove the Mopar sponsored Neon to nearly consistent 7.60's while paving the way to his new ride as Pro Stock Driver for Don Schumacher Racing. Did I leave anyone out? Critics, come on in!
So....to answer the original question.....NO, there haven't been any 6 second passes to date. Hondas have to run 7's before they can run 6's.

The post was for the "Quickest FWD powered vehicle to date"...... then it says "Preferably Honda". I thought I was providing that info. If we're talking "just Hondas", then the list becomes considerably larger. I just included everyone who was the closest to the 7's, since that seems to be the bar that no Honda has ever eclipsed.

- Stef's hatch never went that quick, something around 8.5 but the coupe was quicker.
Intereesting thread, as I was thinking of all the types of cars that have run 7's.
GM (Kubo,Hoyos,Ladwig,Hunt,Gardella,Jiminez)
Mazda (Berg)
Mopar (Shaun and soon frenchy)
DSM (Shep)
Toyota (Rado)
Honda(??? - someone step up!)
and bringing up the rear are the vw's in the 9's
-we're down there with hyundai!

Damn when did we do an 8.04 or a 8.08. Must have been super secret testing that I wasn't invited to. The fastest the old Civic went was 8.12 from November of 2001

I bet 8.0 in the hatch would have been a RIDE!!!! That sucker never went as straight as the coupe!!!
Joe D. went 8.46
Someone needs to build a real Honda. There hasn't been one since Steph, and we have advanced so much since then
The sad thing is that the K motor in a real chassis with a real trans would be brutal...but no one has the funds to do it right.

Hahaha. Yep it was bad. The funny thing about this is. As some of you may know I was the crew cheif for the Steph's FWD cars. There was a time when we were racing the coupe on the east coast and we had a battle to go to on the west coast the week after. WE decided to leave the coupe out there and raced the hatch the next weekend. The very first pass after Steph took the hatch down the track his words to me were I never want to race the hatch again after this weekend. It is so much of a handfull compared to the coupe. hahaha
awesome quote haha. dturbocivic, nice list. someone should keep this updated.
dont forget about frenchy (8.042) and Ron Lummus(7.7X before rule changes)
