Default One side sits lower (lowering springs)

Alright so I did a search and supposedly it's normal for one side to sit lower than the other when lowering your car. However, in every thread that I looked at, the driver's side supposedly sags a bit lower than the passenger's side. On my car, it's the passenger's side that sags lower than the driver's side!

Can anyone tell me what's up with this? My driver's side is a full 1 finger gap higher than the passenger's. Why is it that on every other lowered car (with springs), the driver's side sits lower than the passenger's?!

Thanks ahead of time

Btw, my car has been lowered for about 3 weeks now. Is this enough time for the springs to settle? When I originally lowered the car, both sides were of equal height (to be expected from what I've read). Just hoping that my driver's side sags a bit lower to even out the stance like every other car!

one side of my car sits lower cause the rear trailing arm bushing is shot, you could check that.

Forgot to mention, but this is for my front. The rears are about evenly matched...almost lol.

you should measure from the under-car jack points to make sure you are lowered an even amount. the fenders is by no means an accurate way to measure (ride) height.

my car doesn't look evenly lowered (im on GC on koni yellows) but i'm a 1/4" lower in the front versus rear, and i have only about a 1/16" difference from left to right, but it doesn't 'look it'

Ah, I'll give that a try in a few mins. I just find this interesting because on my previous springs, my car sat about 2 finger gaps lower in the front, however, both sides were about equal in terms of height. Dunno if the springs just need more time to settle.

Would placing a bag of sand or some other heavy weight on the driver's side portion of the engine bay for a few months and not driving the car help any? Just wondering because I'll be leaving my car at home for a few months when I leave for school.

Thanks!

Wow, just checked the jacking points. The driver's side jacking point is a full finger gap higher than the passenger's side. Just like the differences in distances from the fenders.

Can someone please enlighten me as to what's going on? I've also checked the engine bay and the thread count for the tops of the shocks are the same. This is really confusing me.

Thanks!

Late night bump, just tossed a few heavy weights on that side of the engine bay and jacked up the passenger's side, lol. The passenger's side is actually 2 finger gaps whereas the driver's is 4. Can anyone enlighten me as to what's going on? I'm assuming that the passenger's side is heavier due to the tranny, but the amount that the car is off is just strange.

Bump, sorry for so many bumps, but I really can't figure this out and it's starting to get annoying seeing one side of my car a full inch or more higher than the other.

I'll probably tear down the entire front suspension this coming weekend, but tips or advice/previous experiences or solutions to the problem I have would help. At least that way I'd know what to look out for or what to check.

Thanks again for any help whatsoever .

*edit* just jacked the car up to check and apparently the spring is not sitting correctly in the driver's side...normally the end of the coil is supposed to be touching the retainer like so: -|____<--spring hits that notch on the shock

However, the spring is about 2 inches before that (must've slipped back before I torqued everything down). I really can't see how this would cause the driver's side to be so much higher, but I'll definitely be lining that back up when rebuilding.

Any ideas?

I have the same problem too. One shop told me my car may have some possible frame damage. I haven't had the chance to get it checked out by the body shop. If your car's been in any bad accidents you may want to consider that.

Alright, just some closure but I finally slapped my 15x6.5 inch rims on wrapped around 205/50/15 tires and all corners seem equal now. Both rear sides are 1 finger gap from the fender exactly, and both fronts are 1.5 finger gaps form the fender. Measured the jacking points and they coincide with each other. I have no idea how my car fixed itself, but whatever works I suppose .

why do you have the front higher than the rear?

No idea, I just ride around Cali-style . J/p, running H&R sport lowering springs. I would imagine the problem is I need some more weight in the front. Perhaps a DOHC ZC or something other than my single cam would even the front with the rears.

This thread is one of the reasons why I don't reccomend "springs" period.

Measuring the gap from tire to fender is not going to be even from front to back, even with an even drop. The rear fenders have a smaller opening for the tire, as the back tires don't need to turn.

For reference, my Integra sits with 2 finger gap rear, 3 finger gap front, and the front jack points are actually lower.
