Default Omnipower Test Pipe

Calling all peeps who own em'...did you have to clamp yours where the 3 pieces extend? I have it running w/o em and cant tell whether or not its the collector and front of test pipe or the actual test pipe leaking. Ive already tried pluggin the end of the exhaust for pressure but still nothin. Anyone?

I am running it with a Megan 4-1 2.5'' Header and some crappy donut gasket from Advance Auto...

Thanks

so, you have an exhaust leak? usually you can just look, as the area that is leaking will have black soot around it. you can try running the car on jackstands and putting your hand near (not ON) the area you think is leaking and you will feel the exhaust pulsing onto your hand.

Most people don't clamp the omni test pipes, your exhaust leak is probably from the donut.

My friend actually tacked a few small welds to keep his pieces from shifting, but carbon build up is supposed to block any kind of leaks on the test pipes.

Mine will be going on shortly so I'll let you know, just waiting for my Kami header which comes today.

YEah clamp it. I used 2 2.5 or 3in exhaust clamps and it works real well. I have a JDM header, JDM Test pipe, and ITR B-pipe all OEM hardware. This is on a Civic coupe. If you plan on having the same exhaust for a while you can get it welded.

PS: Just dont clamp it down extra tight and crush the test pipe, just make it snug and it'll stay together. It will leak a little but nothing worth worrying about. I get complements on how good my exhaust sounds all the time.

haha... The test pipe has 3 pieces to it. 2 tucked into a center piece and i think its leaking from there. Omniman told me that It should take about 2-300 miles before the carbon seals itself shut. Any truth to this?
