Default 300whp Stock Block and Head DOHC ZC

Well, we decided to turn up the boost a little to see what we can pull out of the good ol' stock head and bottom end DOHC ZC. This was done on 93 pump gas, I'll take it to the track soon to see what I can run now. The graph shows my old numbers of 15lbs (280whp 230wtq) and the new ones of 300whp and 237wtq on 16lbs. Motor is running solid and was tuned by Huy Tran of Inline Racing :thumb:

Nice numbers with the ZC!

Might change the correction factor to SAE though since that is what most people use, numbers will go down though.

SAE is 299.79whp I will post that graph when I get home. Car is daily driven, I put 250 miles on it every week. I drove it for 10k miles on 10lbs making 230whp and 2k more on 15lbs making 280whp. Motor is doing just fine.

those are really good #s for 16lbs. my ZC(d16a1) built bottom end and stock head if i remember was 301whp @ 20lbs. but not alot of timing. i tuned it my self and was really conservative. good job though

D16A1 ports are smaller, head flows less. Or at least that's what GRM article said back in the day... I owned both D16A1 and ZC, and I can't say I bothered to look.

I plan to leave it at 16lbs and maybe do a race gas tune to see what it makes on that.
It has been rainning a lot here in Houston so I haven't been able to run it yet. I will post a video when I get my new times.

I ran that on 15lbs making 280whp, with the extra 20whp I hope to drop it to a mid 11 and get kicked out the track for no roll cage LOL.

Where do PG6 rods come from? I saw on thezcr you mentioned they are thicker (rods) than the stock zc rods...are they the stock D16a1 rods? Nice pics too
