open poll: tell me what clutch and flywheel you think is the best.

guys one question (especially for the pot smokers) i hear good things about the exedy clutch but no feedback on the exedy flywheel, anyone know it its good?
This is my first post here, but i figure might as well be helpful. DO NOT GET ACT! My friend had one in his B20 VTEC, and the pressure plate decided to gernade it self for no apparent reason. Up until this point, it wasn't even slipping, it just gave out. Shards of metal destroyed the radiator, the tranny, took off part of the block skeleton, and dented the hood. Here's some pics........

Damn! thats crazy, maybe it was defective? i'm leaning torwards the excedy, due to price and good word. i think the ACT would be overkill. thanks for the warning

I believe the ACT clutches that had the 8000+ problems were the ones manufactured YEARS ago.
Thats the first time Ive ever seen anything like that happen...not to get on your ***, but looks like either a fluke, or faulty installation.

The best clutch I have had is a type R stock.
The Toda started chattering real bad after 2000 miles
The Centerforce started slipping after 5000 miles
The ClutchMasters Sucked from the get go, never worked right at all.
The Act disc fell apart after 300 miles.
These have been on several different cars, My set up is now at 270Hp on my S/C car and the R clutch works great. My B20VTec has the same and is at 155TQ and is great too. It might not last as long but it sure works the best.
Got it right!

I have the heavy duty clutch, been going strong for 16k miles now, ACT HD and SS disc
stock flywheel (soon to be upgraded)

i have the act heavy duty right now and it runs fine, no problems yet (knock on wood). i broke it in for 400 miles and ragged it for about 1000 miles just to test it out.
ACT doesn't need broken in but it does need aligned just right. act is the best for the money I have had my extreme for over 30,000 miles with a CM flywheel. it chatters a bit cause the alum. flywheel just does that with act's clutch. that looks like a burnout taken too far honestly...my friends stock si clutch did that last year at carlisle after a 5 minute burnout session. accually the whole looked exactly the same
true, thanks guys for all the feedback. i bought the exedy organic race clutch and the 9lb chromoly FW. it was a good price, obviously Toda is the way to go but i cant afford it. i'll give a review when i install it this weekend!
i'm sorta teasing....but you installing clutches properly? thats a big list of they don't work
No doubt, and that's the first time I've heard anything negative about the toda.....
I havent broken it all in yet so i havent been able to really notice the full difference, Clutch feels pretty much same as stock and i definatedly feel more pull in the lower gears (but i havent taken it past 5K) the revs dont jump as quick as i expected but gear matching is definatedly better. by the end of the week it will be broken in and i'll let you guys know how it grabs!
