Default Decided on Hondata Reflash

ok ive decided on the hondata reflash for my 06 type s
but first i need a little more information on it from people who have it
ive read the info on their site and ****...but i am just looking for a little more

when hondata is installed i mean can it cause and serious/potential damage to the engine?
as far as it reving to high and valves leaking?
is it safe to bring it to the red when the reflash is installed or are u risking blowing the engine
and i don't mean just flooring the car and letting it bounce off the limiter
i just mean power shifting like racing
can it cause and potential damage?
???

no powershifting
If you are that scared of it then just dont rev that high. You are talking about an increase of 300 RPM, you will be ok.

reflash will not cause potential damage. Bad driving causes damage.

with the reflash you should be ok. that isnt what causes engine damage. beating the **** out of the car is what causes engine damage. you could have a bone stock type s, drive it everyday and abuse it, and have a blown engine within 15,000 miles.

If you are worried about it then just doon't rev that high, or don't do it very often.

Hondata helps out in other areas other than just more RPMs.

Reving that high will not hurt you... Over Reving the motor and bouncing off the rev limiter will hurt you... The JDM K20A reves to over 8600k so you'll be fine... Additionally, hondata says once you hit 10k rpm is when you would have piston valve touch which is very bad. In other words, there is nothing to worry about. Also, most of the power is made in the mid range so you can still shift at the stock limit. I am looking into getting this also but im just waiting to get some more funds together.

the reflash will not cause damage. Any damage done will be by the driver. It adjusts the VTEC point and allows for a higher redline (the OEM meter is off by a few hundred RPM anyway as a safety measure) so you're still in a safe zone.

Again, this doesn't make you a good driver. Respect the car andit won't get damaged. The power was always there in the engine, Hondata just brings a bit more out.

Calm down buddy. I wasnt trying to insult you. I meant that if you are worried/concerned/troubled by/scared of the higher rev limit there is no need for it. But dont take my advice, just dont rev that high. Just cause the redline is up there doesnt mean that is where you have to shift there.

And to back my first post and what everyone has said afterwards it is SAFE.

Have fun with it
