Removing Integra Cd-Player
Not getting the help I need in audio/security and I want to do this tonight...
I know its a dumb question, but I want to make sure it goes as smooth as possible. How do I go about getting the factory deck out of my 98 GS-R? Where are the screws and what panels do I have to remove? Also will the harness I had on my new pioneer that I had in my Civic fit my Integra?
Thanks

Man it's been awhile...when you get down to it, the only thing holding it in place is a screw on the bottom of the CD player. Oh and the antenna plug and such. Just remove the screws on the lower left and right side of the console (where the driver's right foot and passenger's left foot are) and whatever other screws that may be holding it in (the console, not the CD player). Bottom line it's just a few screws and sh-t. Removing whatever to get to it won't hurt. Easy as pie.

Don't know about the civic vs. teg fitment question.
To get to the stereo properly, you should remove the center console. Although it is possible to get to the screws behind the headunit without removing it, you need small arms and a lot of patience. (something I don't have
) Also make sure you know the code for your headunit, as this will reset it when you unplug it.
Start by removing the center arm rest, there are 2 screws on each side, and two large screws under the cover directly under the e-brake handle(pull the e-brake up for later ease). Next take the two screws off the center console towards the front of the panels in each footwell. Remove the ashtray, and unscrew the two outer screws at the back of the ash tray slot(you can leave the center screw in). Next remove the ashtray/lighter/cup holder assembly by pulling it straight out of the dash(make sure you retain the two clips on the top tabs of this piece). Unscrew the two screws in the center console that were located behind the ashtray assembly. Unscrew your shift ****, slide both seats all the way back, put the shifter in neutral. Pull the center console up at the back slightly to clear the carpet, and pull it straight back until it clears the dash. Twist it sideways and wiggle it out, being careful not to scratch the plastic(easy to do in a Honda).
Once this piece is out, you should be able to climb into a foot well, and look up behind the headunit and see two(I think it's two) screws that face upward in the back. Remove those screws, unplug the (overly short) antenna wire and the headunit harness from the back of the unit and you're all done.
Hope that helps.

if you get a long enough extension and a 1/4" drive 8mm, you can get behind your stereo without taking anything off. i have done this numerous times working at acura. takes about 5 minutes. then unplug the antenna and radio plug and you are set.

This should help....
1) Remove the ashtray
2) If you look down where the ashtray goes there are 2 black screws; remove them
3) Unsnap the lower black moulding with the cigarette lighter attached; there are 2 clips up top so pull forward firmly
4) Using a 1/4 inch drive rachet with 8mm deep socket loosen the 2 screws that hold the unit to the frame; they are about 4 inches apart and are mounted to the bottom of the unit
5) Once loosened grab the plastic pocket and pull the entire unit forward about 3 inches.
6) The pocket is held in place with a phillips screw and small bracket on each side; remove it
7) Reach under the left side of the unit and remove/pull the antenna connector; if this is the first time that the unit is being removed it will require you to pull on it firmly
8) Slide unit further out and unplug harness
9) Check compatibility with new radio and factory harness and get radio dash kit.
10) Complete installation and you've got tunes
