DIY : How to adjust JDM headlights - directly from Honda :)
I took this from an european documentation, the way of adjusting the JDM headlamps is exactly the same as european ones.
The only difference between them is that european ones are two piece but still with JDM design and look.
The KG model shown in the middle of right column does not apply as it is a special version with an electrical leveling system.
A and C make up-down adjustement
B and D make left - right adjustement

omg thank you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much my driver side is so low i cant see anything at night
lol thanks for posting but honestly
i thought everyone knew how to adjust their headlights. i mean its almost the same type system on usdm headlights (they look a little different) but honestly, i figure ppl could make the simple connection from usdm to jdm.
oh wells. i wish helms had a jdm manual as well (in english) that would be a very interesting read.

This is OT but interesting..Japanese service manuals as well as other forieng service manuals were printed and released as is. Problem was Japanese does not translate directly into english and also no one ever proof read the Japanese service manuals so there were a lot of typos and blatantly wrong information in JDM service manuals. It was the American Honda company that contacted Helms to print and release their service manuals. This happened in the early 90's. A whole divisin was created with in Tech-Support to proof read and go over Jdm service manuals cover to cover as soon as they are released. To this Day there is still no one in Japan that Verifies the information of the service manuals they release.

What's the "KG model" shown in the pictures?
Good find wstef.. I learned how to adjust them the hard way by trial and error and when I ripped them open to retro. HIDs. How's your prelude coming along? Last I remembered you put in the 7 speaker(?) system in your car..

KG is German model. They are obliged to have the electrical levelling system. I had this in my lude, but when I switched to JDM headlamps I haven't this anymore. But honestly, I never used this.
My lude is going very fine, it was a 9 speaker DSP system taken from JDM BB4 lude (if you want to see look for thread "JDM weekend", it was blocked however, no idea why).

you look down on top of them
there are two "cogs" for each headlight. take a phillips screwdriver and turn them until they are level. just shine the lights at a white wall on level surface.
its just like the usdm headlights but in slightly different positions.
trust me, once you find out how easy it is, you will kick yourself for asking

This is excellent.
I found the cogs on my own, but this would have made it soooo much faster to take care of. I was tired of illuminating the road 6 feet in front of me

Maybe some people had no idea how to adjust the headlights in the first place. If everyone knew everything, then why have Honda-Tech, or even the internet?</TD></TR></TABLE>
well there are some good questions a helms could not answer, etc.
i've stated before, a helms is a very good buy for preludes. its not that expensive and gives a lot of information which would cut down traffic on most prelude forums. You just have to read. Wouldn't it be nicer to have serious questions and not the usual crap that some of us have to filter thru?
and yes, i do acknowlege the OP post because the controls are in a different place than the usdm ones (the low beams are different, there is a hole that you don't use on the usdm headlights but on the jdms you magically get a useable hole)

+1 also, it would help if people would start using the SEARCH function instead of posting pointless thread about the same stuff over and over again.

well for your car,
it would turn it into a usdm lude

The "do not touch screw" keeps one corner of reflector into the headlamp housing. Because of this when two other screws are adjusted the reflector moves up down and left right.
Here is a view from inside, you will quickly understand how the adjusting works. The "do not touch" screw just keeps one corner in constant position, two other screws move - that gives as I wrote before, up down and left right movement:
