take manifold off, take old gasket off, put new gasket on, put the manifold back on.

Theres a bracket/support back there you gotta remove....Then remove manifold,,,,remember to disconnect the engine wire harness from the manifold as well as some of the vacuum lines that may be holding it in..Then remove the manifold..Then remove the gasket ,,and theres probably going to be alot of gasket sealer all over the head so put some paper towels or newspaper or whatever in the intake ports of the head..Then I like to use gasket remover and a scraper,,have to be real carefull not scratch **** up..Apply new gasket sealer and then the gasket..I like to use rtv gasket sealer personally..Then install the manifold back onto the engine along with bolting back up the bracket/support..All bolts get torqued down to 17ft/lbs...And on the intake manifold make sure to tighten them in a criss-cross pattern,,start from the inside out and I like to do it in steps....Then hook back up the engine harness and vacuum hose(s) that you took off..

Edit--Do zc engines even have a intake manifold support/bracket back there?

Yes, 2 nuts conntect it to to mani, 2 to the block, and 2 more bolts on its side. They are all 12mm and cake to get off if your laying under the car with a ratchet and 10" extension

The HG isn't something that you just have to routinely change.
