Blue, tan interior.
174k mi. I 'm the 1st and only owner.
Runs excellent. Still gets 37-38mpg (hwy)!! Does NOT burn oil.
- Brand new alternator (just paid the dealer $500 for it! Dealer installed it, thieves!)
- Brembo front rotors (<1yr old)
- Axxis Ultimate pads (<1yr old)
- Castrol GTX 5W-20 oil every 3,500 mi. \
- All accessories work including moonroof, CD player, A/C, Power windows/mirrors, etc.
- NGK Platinum plugs (OE are platinum but Denso)
- tires are Bridgestone All Seasons with 60%+ tread
- orginial clutch is still good because I don't shift much, all highway miles.
- new windshield due to a spider/hair crack that kept growing
- new front LCA bushings (turns out it wasn't the bushings but the struts making some noise)
- rear drum brakes were recently inspected, cleaned, and cable "tightened" by Honda dealer.
99% of the mileage is highway. I have a long commute.
Now for the bad (you didn't expect to buy a perfect '01 Civic for under $3K did you?)
- Car was hit by an older (10-15yr old) Camry in the rear right but not hard (~10mph) and luckily I was still moving. It just needs a rear bumper shell. The bumper I 'm told is still good. This is the ONLY accident the car had.
- Car has numerous small (tiny) dings from a 1min. freak hale storm. On the roof, hood and trunk lid.
- Needs front struts but the car is perfectly driveable - you don't have to replace them right away if you don't want to.
You should be able to find the bumper cover and shocks in a junkyard or some used parts place, or just drive it for the gas mileage and don't fix anything.
KBB private sale for FAIR condition is almost $5,700 with my zip. I listed it for half that which I think is fair since the car is very good running condition and mechanically sound. It's $2850 OBO.
The car is located in lower NY, less than an hour from the NJ, CT & PA borders. Actually 35min. from Jersey/Bergen County, 1hr north of the GW bridge.
If interested e-mail me at vtecharry@yahoo.com.
Don't own a digital camera and never took pics of the car. You 'll have to drive here to see it and drive it around the block because I just transferred the plates to my '06 Civic.
If you want reliable transportation and don't care much about external appearance this car should do it for you. I 've been very lucky with this car mechanically speaking because I took care of it, never beat on it or raced it, and kept up with the maintenance, fluids, etc. It has only seen the inside of a dealership twice for repair.

oh oh, I was afraid I wasn't asking enough.. My brother saw my post and called to yell at me. He thinks I should be asking $4K.
I did post it here for $3,900 last October but changed my mind because I couldn't find a black '06 LX coupe 5sp. anywhere. The best offer I had was $3500 then and I would have sold it if I could have found the new Civic I wanted. I waited 6mos for it and now I got it. But in the meantime the struts have been going down hill on the EX and are making a noise when going over bumps which is why I 'm asking for less. That was my logic I guess..
So far noone has tried to negotiate the price from the e-mails I got. They just want to see the car which means I 'll most likely get what am I asking for. So I guess you could say I 'm firm on the price, for now. I 'm in no hurry.
BTW, I have 2 people coming to see it next week, so if you 're interested send e-mail and I 'll fit you in my busy schedule next week. The car is not far from Newburgh, in Orange County, NY. or 15min. from the Woodbury Commons.

my e-mail was listed on the original e-mail. I added it again at the end.
Got several people coming to see the car beginning Tuesday (I 'm away Monday). I 'll get back to you in a few days if it's still available or you can e-mail me in a couple of days. vtecharry@yahoo.com.

sorry guys, car SOLD for the asking price to the 2nd lucky visitor that came to my house today to see it.
I 'll try to reply to all the e-mails and PM's but if I miss someone hopefully you 'll read this post.
Next time you see a good deal or think it's a good deal jump on it. I priced the car low to sell it fast but people were dragging their feet sending me multiple e-mails and asking for pics and others begging me to hold it till the weekend, instead of asking to come and see it & test drive it. You should always act fast and without hesitation, take some risk.
We 're so accustomed to the new technology that we won't even get up from our computer desks, jump in our car (or ask for a ride) and drive to someone's house to see their car like the old days, because we 're so used to seeing pics and jpegs.
Anyway, thanks to everyone for your interest!

I knew it was gonna be sold. It was too good of a price. I tried to get it asap but I couldn't see it on the day you asked and you couldn't show it on the day that I emailed you. Oh well, maybe next time. This was probably the first good deal on these forums - 99% are busted up beaten down cars.
