correct way to wire 500/1 JL amp to 2 12"JL W3s
ok first i had tried to wire it the way it is on #1 in the diagram....when i did this...the left sub sound came out all distorted nasty while the right came out clean. when i hooked in the right alone the sound was nice. and then hooked in left alone sound was nice. but then im thinking the 2 subs together were not sounding right becuz of the way i wired a single channel amp (500/1 JL amp btw) do i need another amp or is the wiring in diagram #2 the correct way? if not can anyone help explain to me the correct wiring technique

That link shows how to wire teh coils in series on each sub + running the subs in parallel to each other (top pic) and how to wire in total parallel (bottom pic).
You need to achieve a 1.5 ohm load with the subs basically. I am not sure if you have the dual 4 ohm, dual 2 ohm, or dual 6 ohm...
If you have 2 dual 2 ohms...
Run the coils in series on each sub, and then wire the subs in parallel. That gives a 2 ohm load. (top pic)
If you have 2 dual 4 ohms...
Run the coils in series on each sub, and then wire the subs in parallel. That gives a 4 ohm load. (top pic)
If you have 2 dual 6 ohms...
Run the coils in parallel on each sub, and then wire the subs in parallel as well (total parallel setup). That gives a 1.5 ohm load... (bottom pic)
Hope that helps.
