TypeOne Exhaust Dyno
When I first got this system installed, I had my doubts if it was the right exhaust system for myself. The only gripe I had was how loud it was without the silencer. I didn't want to give the cops reason to pull me over and I didn't want to go deaf while driving. I was happy to find out that the silencer almost shut the noise back to stock levels.
My next concern was the loss of power with the silencer on. My baseline numbers with nothing but a Comptech Icebox and timing at 18 degrees were 166.9whp and 120.3whp. I wanted to be able to duplicate those numbers with the TypeOne (silencer equiped).
I'm relieved to say that I won't be replacing the TypeOne. Before hitting the dyno, I was slowly learning how to tolerate the sound without the silencer. After the dyno, I'm even more determined to tune out the noise. It's really not that loud now that I think about it. I was just spoiled by the civility of the stock catback.
Anyway, enough of my yapping. Here are the goods. I didn't lose any power with the silencer on when compared to my baseline run. I got a pretty good increase in power despite the fact that people say that an aftermarket exhaust doesn't do too much on a relatively stock R.
1st Run - With Silencer
2nd and 3rd Runs - W/O Silencer

Good numbers Chris. Glad it all worked out for you. I was impressed with the stock like sound with the silencer in. It wasn't too bad with it out either. Inside the car would be a little different as from outside though. If you have more time, mybe you can take me for a ride. Sorry you couldn't make dinner, after a long day of work and play, I'm whooped!
Where's George! I wanna see something he gotz! hehe
