Which tires should I buy?
ok heres the situation. My friend who had his bike totaled by some theif offered me his m1's with only 200 miles on them for $100. Should I buy those or just get the pilot powers anyway. Im in the market for some new tires what do you think i should buy.
I would buy his tires for $100 take them to a place and have them taken off his bike and put on mine. prolly another $100 i think (not sure).
What tires do yo prefer??

to be honest i dont know, i know he has greggs custom flush mounts on there. I was thinking of buying his bike if the insurance company sells it back to him, and do a project bike. Ill find out if he will part it out, and let you guys know.
If your just putting around on the street grab the M1's, if your gonna do some aggresive riding or a trackday get the PP's. $100 to mount tires!? That is a little outrageous.
i just put on the pilot about a week ago, and love it. dont know anything about m1's, but i do know that everyone can agree that the pilot is a great tire.... very possibly the best out right now.

$100 to mount/balance tires is robbery. You'd be better off learning how to do it on your own. You'd make your money back after two tire changes.
What tires are you running now? If you've never tried Pilot Powers, the M1 are good tires. They heat up quickly and handle almost anything you throw at them. They only get greasy at the end of a hot trackday. The PP are better than the M1s, but they also have a more triangular profile. They will tip into a turn faster than the M1s.

well i just threw the $100 out there not really sure on what they charge to mount. I have to take his tires and put it on mine, then take my tires and put on his.

You guys are trading tires? Why not just swap them straight-up (no cash involved)?
Bring in both sets of wheels at the same time. The shop may be willing to charge you for changing only one set.
