Default LS VTEC Checklist..

I just got a few parts to build an LS VTEC swap that will be going into a '94 Integra, so i'm gonna list what i have, and im asking my fellow H-T heads to help me finish my checklist.. thanks!

B18A1 block
repolished GSR Crank
Eagle GSR Rods
CP 11:5 GSR Pistons
B16A head, OBD 1 Distributor
GSR Transmission (code is scratched off)
ARP Head studs and Bolts
Either B16 or GSR B18 Cams and Cam gears ( which is better?)
1994 Acura Integra shell

-Parts i will be ordering:
-Eagle head gasket kit (gasket and all parts/lines needed to tap oil for VTEC)
-Exedy Satge 3 clutch, possibly a lighter flywheel
-DC Sports 4-1 header

OK, This is where i need everyones help:
-Im not sure which motor mounts i need to get, remember its a block out of a DA going into a DC integra
-Which axles to use
-Which ECU is best? B16 or GSR? (im thinking B16?)
-and if theres anything that im Failing to think about, or mention..please let me know!! thanks guys im planning on building a very strong LS VTEC!!

you really should just do a search on this, but your forgetting- vtec oil pump, water pump, timing belt, and tuning.
-your destroking your setup by using the gsr crank so really its defeating the purpose.
-the axles to use would be b series axles.
-the mounts would be the 3rd gen mounts if your putting it in the 94 integra shell. -id use an exedy stage 1 with a type r flywheel why waste money when you dont need it.
-id tone down the compression on those pistons unless you plan on it being stictly track car or running race gas everywhere.
-id go comptech on the header
-type r cams why b16 or gsr?
-ecu i would use a p28 with hondata or p72 ecu with a vafc
-get a new tranny case or new tranny because if a cop sees that they will impound your vehical. if the code is scratched off it is considered stolen
-the b18a is illegal to put in your car if you are in california but so is ls/vtec so im guessing that you dont really care anyways
hope i helped out
-Jason

you helped a little, i forgot to mention i already have a gsr oil pump, so i need a water pump, timing belt, and a new tranny case, i already have the cams, thats why i asked which ones are better between b16 or gsr, and a new ecu.. i gotta look into the crankshaft though.. but thanks for your help..anyone else?

when you guys say destroking, what is meant by that? less strokes made by the crankshaft? can i still use any b-series pistons and rods?

the whole point of an ls/vtec setup is basically a poor mans stroker kit for a gsr meaning the height of the center of the crankshaft to the big end of the rod is taller on an ls crank than a gsr crank giving you a bit more stroke and displacement. stroke=torque a gsr has has less center of the crank to big end of rod meaning less stroke=destroking basicaly making it iif ou were to do what you want to do it would be a gsr without oil squirters and a bit off on the water jackets. damn and im hella drunk hahaha if i were you id just bring it to a shop and tell em what you want your goals to be and throw money at em

i guess its my fault for not letting you guys know, that i dont have too much money to play with, and i got all these parts as a deal from my friend, i just want to know if i can use them for this set up? will it work? im not trying to build a monster drag car, just a daily driver, i need to get this thing running asap, just need to know if i can use the gsr crank, gsr rods, gsr pistons(high compression 11:5), with b16 head, and b16 cams..

well if your ballin' on a budget id go:
vtec water pump
vtec oil pump
vtec timing belt
golden eagle ls/vtec coversion kit
intake manifold gasket
chipped p28
b16 head w/type r cams if you can afford it with .020 shaved off
used comptech header or dc sports wichevers cheaper and more available cuz im obd1 vtec distributer
type r, b16, or skunk 2 intake manifold
oil pressure gauge
type r flywheel
stock replacement clutch or stage 1 exedy
but thats just my opinionds
