Default S2k cluster in EG with a K20

I am seriously considering this cluster swap, and have been reading as much info on it as I can find. I know there are issues with it, but from what I can tell, some of the problems can be solved if you have a k series instead of a b series. Since I am putting a k20 in the ride in the near future, I want to know how this would affect the cluster swap, and what, if any problems having a k would I run into. Thanks in advance!

i heard its easy with the k20z. the k20z and the s2000 use the same vss and makes this swap fairly easy. as for the k20a's, its possible but takes a little work

I'm down with the work, I just haven't found out what is different for the k20a, and a GSR motor. I would prefer not to find out as I go, but if that is what I have to do, then it looks like that is what's gonna happen. Anybody know if the k20a and the k20z use the same vss? How about the issue with the temp gauge? Is that problem nonexistant with the k20a? Thanks for all the help guys.

Your idea sounds effin great, I'd actually love to see that finished product, but might I ask one quick question... Why not install the cluster after you've swapped in a K20?

I think taking care of all the k20's tweaks and issues before hand is key to getting the cluster fully functional anyways. And if you installed it now, and prepped it for the d-series (i'm guessing) you have right now, you'll just have to go through and re-wire it again to function corretly with the k20. And not to metion you might run into a whole lot more wiring problems with the cluster in first. But this is just my observation.

Good luck and keep us posted. And when you do decide to do it, make a write-up.

I am planning on doing it once my k20 is in. I have only seen a few threads about this cluster swa, so I wanted to have plenty of time to try and figure out the problems so I don't have to find out as I go.
