I was wondering if this has been done before. a search yielded nothing but a couple people asking if it was possible. no pictures that i know of.

i have the complete wiring diagrams for the EG/insight and i was wondering if there was anything else i'd need.


i'm hoping it would follow along side an s2000 cluster swap since both are digital. anyone have any insight? im about to shoot ryan @rywire an email when i get off work today. hopefully he'll have some more info

did some more research on the s2k cluster swap. seems to be just switching wires. apparently the coolant gauge doesn't work?


i need some more insight into this swap!!!! (pun intended.)

the s2k cluster requires a rewire AND a vss converter. no ideah what you woul want with the insight cliuster, but it will be just as complicated, if not more. i dont know if it is an analog signal or a digital signal to the speedo, nor any of the other guages.

The Insight has that indicator that tells you if you're charging the batteries or not. That certainly wouldn't work. Good luck with this.

leave the IMA bullshit aside, the speedo/tach/fuel have to be semi similar with the s2k cluster.

im still waiting to hear back from ryan. ill let ya know as well as when i finally pick up an insight cluster.

from what i'm reading on alldata it looks like the temp sensor is a digital feed from a multiplexer unit. i'm in the process myself of trying to figure out if i can make the temp gauge work on an 03-05 optitron civic cluster, and i'm still waiting on a reply from bob. he had said originally that he could probably calibrate his converter to the cluster, but i haven't made it that far yet.

and if the gauge on the insight is in fact like the s2000 then you will also need to run a speedohealer.

that aside, it's quite possible and likely that other functions of the gauge cluster use digital inputs from the multiplexer. it'll be "fun" trying to make those work properly as well.

well, sounds like you have gotten your answer. could you calibrate the charge function to work as a boos gauge? that would be awsome. since it is not like the gas gauge, it moves pretty quickly in responce to the charge/assist modes.

im trying to not get too far ahead of myself haha. but maybe one side can be a voltage gauge (useless but at least get something out of it) and the other side could be something else. or just remove that section of the gauge and put something else there.


im still waiting to hear back from rywire. im heading back to VA to visit my gf and i'll be picking up an insight gauge cluster from the junkyard up there.
