suspension too stiff, how to adjust?
i just bought a car with some omnipower drag rear suspension. The car is way too stiff for the roads how can i adjust them? I tried the little screw on top but the nut just turned with it. Then i tried turning the nut while holding the the screw but its to hard. any help is apriciated.
Somehow, I don't think they are damping adjustable. And even if they were, 18kg/mm springs are 18kg/mm, its going to be a punishing ride. Have fun.
would lowering it help the rade at all? cause right now its sitting pretty high. and would it harm the car in anyway having this suspension on it for a daily driver?
Lowering usually makes it worse. PIC mentioned 18k spring rates, which vey very stiff, right up around 1000lb/in. Most OTS coilovers are about half that, maybe less. There isnt much you can do to soften springs that stiff, other that get new springs.
You may be able to call/email Omni to see if they have any suggestions as far as softening them by adjusting the damping, but I dont think it will do much if anything.\

correct, to give you an idea most coilovers had between 6K and 8K rear rates. If they were meant for a very stiff rear spring (helps reduce rear squat during drag) then even if they are adjustable, full soft still won't make 10K+ tolerable on the street.
Your best bet...sell them and either buy Omni regular coilovers which are 10K/8K (street) or 12K/10K (sport) or other brands, but Drag coilovers are purpose built for....Drag.

Maybe he meant height adjustable, but raising or lowering isn't going to do anything to improve the ride quality (unless you've been lowered so far that you were riding on bumpstops, in which case raising could possibly improve the ride, and vice versa).

The Drag versions of the Omni's have high spring rates to prevent 'squat' when launching. Your ride will suck *** no matter what you do, unless you get new suspension.

They make one, 6-way adjustable I believe. Comes with 8/10/12K springs too so you choose what you want to install.

The general rule of thumb is that you can go +/- 2K without revalving the shocks...then if your going to go with different springs outside of the 2K you need to have them re-valved.
If Omni can re-valve them, you could have them valved to run whatever rates...including the normal 7 or 8K rear.
