look on the block in the front near the transmission it has a flat stamp, i think the dc1 came with an sohc motor

youre going to need alot of work to switch from automatic to manual transmission

do you have any pictures of this car?

is it right hand drive and so on?

aaaaaah!! finally some1 online, em, ok, it is right hand drive

em, would a B16A fit in my chasis? and could u guys plz recommend some other engines? but 2 get a entirelly new front end, i might as well buy a new car :D, this one was like 7000 or 8000 when i bought it. and em, it doesnt really need 2 b THAT fast, i just wanna out 'fly' the guy next 2 me when im waiting 4 the lights at an intersection. lol, and ill probably use it in low end drag races and stuff, so can u guys mayb recommend a set up that would bring the acceleration up, im not that worried about top speed atm, and as 4 the 7000 buget, thats only for the body work, like tail lights and stuff, which is really what i wanna modify first,

1st goal : look good
2nd goal: doesnt kill me in a crash
3rd goal: go as fast as i can

if it really is a E-DC1 you've got yourself a 1.6L SOHC motor with a 4-speed automatic, and a long road to travel if you want it to be fast. You're not going to find a 6-speed for your car unless you swap in a K-series.
As for modding it with a 6k budget, use the search feature.

As for getting 2006 tails on a 98, besides the body work, which is a task in itself, the plugs will most likely not fit. But just do some wiring.

and i saw some random numbers at the front of the car, just under the hood, it says E-DC1 DC1-1303017
and on the engine block it says: THGA01 and it says its made by Toyota?? lol
em, can u plz tell me what i need 2 change if i wanna change it 2 manual?
like if i need 2 change the chasis or something

wo, im really among pros!! @|@

em, is it possible 2 change it 2 manual tho? cause em, 5 speed maual would b just as good. :D i just want some action in gear changing. lol, and excuse me for the noobish need but what does a SOHC motor mean?

good ppl of HT, i know this is a bit lame but i cant post more than 5 posts per day, lol, so 2 reply, i think i can only edit my current posts, sry. and thanks 4 the advice ill check out the search button :D.

you can only install the 06 itr tail lights with some body modification, as for engine, tranny, rims, suspension thats all up to you

i would say go for something like omnipower full coilover's for suspension

rims is your choice

for the engine intake header exhaust is never a bad place to start, a tranny swap will cost you around 1000+ or so for parts, labor is a different story

u can make anything fit if u mod it and if thats what u really want to do go for it, but i wouldn't recommend it. if ur budget is only 6k, thats something that will cost a good bit of ur budget and u won't have much to show for it. if i were u, i would concertrate on things like a nice set of wheels, a good suspension setup, maybe intake/header/exhaust, and maybe some interior accents. oh and btw, u said u wanted to put a 6-speed manual tranny in ur car, but i don't think thats possible. the only 6-speed would be the s2k or the dc5. but the s2k is rear wheel drive so it won't work and the dc5 won't work simply cuz the motor spins the opposite direction of urs. if u want a new tranny, i would go with a ITR or something similar. hope this helps and if u have any more questions just post them up. welcome to ht!

oh btw, there r some ppl on here that love to hate on what everyone else is doing. just ignore them if they have no constructive criticism or help for u. and the SEARCH button is ur best friend. later.

since you car is rhd i would buy an entire front clip with a B-series motor or something like that and you can get all the parts you need for the motor swap and auto to manual swap as well, all you have to do is transfer the parts from the clip onto your car.

it would be alot easier than looking for all the parts seperately

yes i agree with the rhd b series idea just buy a rhd jdm type r clip and swap all of it into your car you really dont need anything else after that unless you want to boost but believe me after you install that type r b18c motor and trans you will definitely be happy. and i would trash the idea of changing the tail lights instead of modiying them to newer oner look for something diffrent and rare i would go with the ukdm or edm type r tailights they are rare and are so much nicer than regular 98-01 integra tailights good luck with all your modifying and don't rush it do it right the first time .

your thought of putting a b16 in your car will fit but the b16 isnt big enough for an integra if you want it to be fast. just swap engines with a jdm itr(integra type r) motor and use that tranny for your goals that will work well. as for looks the amouynt of work to put dc5 tails in your car isnt really worth it.
