Default Best clutch for Daily Driving...........

What's the best clutch for daily driving, but at the same time gives you the performance you want at the track? Is there such a thing, for example, if you have a 350-400hp car, would the ACT XTR6 work in traffic? I need opinions on this, no one has been able to answer this question for me.

I have ACT at the moment no problem, but I'm going to set-up to a 6 puck and wanted to hear your opinions. What about Action vs ACT?

I hated mine, was very harsh, and just over all a pain the ***. Would not recommend it at all as a daily driver.

I would look into a twin disc or maybe the RPS segmented clutches.

The twin disc stuff starts getting expensive, what about that RPS segmented, what's that?

Then Action 2MS is the best bang for my buck at $405 shipped, anyone else? I really don't want to go twin disc at the moment, Action seems a more cost effective choice. Maybe if I was making like 700+ ponies I would think about tilton twin disc.

I use the Action 2MD 6 puck unsprung clutch and it's not far from stock IMO.

the RPS segmented disc is pretty much jsut that. It uses like 4 segments of disc to make up the clutch, apparently making it much harder to warp the metal and also is rebuildable for like 200 bucks.

go to turboclutch.com they will have more info there.

From what I've seen, the springs in the sprung discs are used to reduce vibrations. That way engagement is not as harsh, but the unsprung is much lighter and for racing only.

Just upgraded the OS Giken super single that was in my EVO IV to an ORC (Ogura) single. Both clutches are rated to 400whp but the Ogura does not require the use of a powerlifters left leg when stomping on the clutch.

I have used the clutches below:

Steel cover OS Giken Super Single (Honda and Mitsu) - $650~$800 - holds like a mother but engagement is harsh. The springs on the sprung setup will die before the disc. Comes with flywheel, disc, seperator and cover. OS Giken T.O. bearing is extra (MUST HAVE ITEM).

Cusco Aluminum cover (made by OS Giken) - $700~$900 - revved faster and uses a larger disc than the steel cover version. Comes with flywheel, disc, seperator and cover. OS Giken T.O. bearing is extra (MUST HAVE ITEM).

ORC 409D (Lancer EVO IV) - unsprung - Pedal feels like stock.

OS Giken twin - unsprung - lighter pedal feel than the OS singles and will hold to 600whp+

action is the biggest piece of **** ive seen......my cousin had one that lasted like 3 months and then it locked him out of every gear and we got stuck with cars going fast behind us because it wouldnt let us in gear, then we took it out. the diaphram (i think thats what its called, the like 20 something pucks on the pressure plate) shifted and werent lined up anymore . threw it out and get a competition 6 puck sprung and it drives great and grabs nicely not to mention it has a light pedal compared to my ACT HDSS

Can anyone else verify that Action clutches are junk? I was debating getting the ACT XXTR6 vs. Action 2ms, I love ACT nothing but great things from them. But I've heard their 6puck clutch is a little harsh for street driving, and Action has a nice engagement. Someone help out
