Default Any regret in selling the ITR?

May I ask if you have feelings of regret for selling the ITR? I’m currently debating weather to sell mine or make more accommodations in order to keep it. Actually, this debate has roots that reach further back in time . After going over the costs of these new accommodations, I find it’s more difficult to justify keeping the ITR . Each time I feel this way, I take the ITR up a mountain road and this whole cycle starts again. I appreciate any helpful insight that you may provide .

I've been going through the same dilemma as you. The difference with me is that it is been a daily driver and well used but still runs great with the exception of a few dents, scratches, and worn parts. For, me keeping it will give me more enjoyment than the 3 or 4 thousand dollars I would get out of selling it after paying it off. Would I regret it? Hell yes. I think anyone who sells will regret it at some point. The car is so great you just cant help but want another one.

I regret selling my '00 FBP with 14k miles on it, there was some serious grieving going on for a good 3 months after I sold it.

But the fact that I got real good money for it, and I don't have be bothered with the covert tactical strategies to keep the car from getting stolen kinda make up for it.

These days I have simpler tastes, I now entertain myself with a 14 second, 30 mpg Vienerschnitzel and old bmx bikes

keep it. i learned it the hard way. unless you REALLY need the $ or have nightmares every single night about your R getting stolen, make accommodations to keep it.

i go through the same thing man. always goes to "oh i want to finally get a motorbike for the summer" then i go drive.... then i want a corrado again so i can finish what i started. but went i had the corrado i wanted a bimmer or a bike........

pretty much the grass is always greener on the other side. i just make sure i get enough enjoyable driving in so I don't forget how fun it is. and this month is my first track day and i hope that helps me. i'd keep it man. my cars two past previous owners still miss it.

OK Oat, maybe you just need to add something to it to make you enjoy it again - very akin to having a girlfriend getting implants. or something.

In any event, maybe you could consider boosting it?

I came close to buying a set of Black CE-28Ns just a few days ago.
If I start with engine modifacations I have no idea where it will lead me.
Sounds like another way to spend more money on the ITR .

My ITR was the 1 and only car I wish I never sold. I had to sell it before I moved home but I should have waited until then...

Sell it. Then realize that you made a mistake. And you will find out the true value of your ITR when you miss it! Sometimes you have to go thru the whole cycle to appreciate the finer things in life!

Considering the Type-R is a fairly inexspensive car I can't imagine you ould replace it with anything that would make you as happy for less money. I ay less money cause you mention selling it for financial reasons.

I regretted selling my Type-R after I bought a TSX. I don't particularly miss it now that I have been driving the S2000. I'd suggest if you love the car you keep it or plan to replace it with a viable replacement which will likely cost more.

I do regret selling my first one. It got stolen by the new owner within 3 weeks of me selling it. If I wouldn't have sold it, we'd still have another R out there....complete.

I do miss driving it daily too. There's nothing I can really think of that comes to be so much fun on the street. If I could do it all over again, I'd keep the car and just live in a box...

Worst thing I've ever had to do. And it wasn't by choice either.

I have the same dilema.
I want a NSX and the only way I can get it is to sell the Type-R. But every time I get ready to pull the trigger and put it up for sale I go out and go through the gears or take an off-ramp at 65mph and I'm just like.... I dont know if I can sell this thing...

I don't regret losing mine (stolen). I now have a track car that's about as fast as the R was for like half the price and less than half the worry of it getting stolen...again.

<--- Way better off financially and stress-free.

Jon, I thought you were a little more resolute about selling your R. Mine will be up for sale in a few days, and I'm not dreading it at all. I absolutely love the car, but no longer having to worry about theft will be a huge weight lifted off my shoulders.

I regret selling mine everytime I see another riding around or at the track...but at the same time I also get to sleep without having to look out the window every hour. Once I move to a safer area I will be picking up another without a doubt.
