Default calling out "TribusRacing" SCAMMER ALERT? Port Townsend WA

I recently thought I was getting the deal of a lifetime on a supposed Quartersport h2b adapter kit from member TribusRacing..... I sent him payment of $525 to his paypal address: matcothomas@aol.com which is a different then listed on his profile here on honda-tech. The one listed here is Tribusracing@aol.com, neither of which I have ever seen online.

Well, unfortunately for me I felt uneasy about this sale and started doing a little research. The name of which I sent the paypal money to was to a Don Ince, who I searched on Google. Turns out a guy using the same name on another account on hondaswap.com was scamming people.

http://www.hondaswap.com/forum...&st=0

So I decided to search on his archived topics he created on HondaTech and find out he was selling a 'h2b' kit for the same price with the same story as to how he came across it.

This is what he posted on those threads:

Obviously nothing near to a Brand New Quarter Sport H2B adapter kit like he claimed...

In his new thread, the one that I noticed this is the picture he posted:

I asked him if he only had the plate or the whole kit over PM's:

(1:20 AM 2/20/2006) TribusRacing: new, quarter motorsports I belive, I didnt know hybrid racing even made one. Paypal addy is matcothomas@aol.com
(1:22 AM 2/20/2006) amy del sol: it didn't come with a box? Sorry, i just wanna make sure of what i'm getting, I heard hybrid racing was coming up with one also and I dont wanna get some cheap knock off stuff
(1:26 AM 2/20/2006) TribusRacing: I bought this from a guy that bought it brand new from Quarter MotorSports, that is why when you said Hybrid Racing, I didnt know what you were talking about. He bought it for 1000 dollars, he ran out of money on his project so I bought it from him for 800, Now I ran out of money and I need to dump it off so someone is going to get this for half off

TribusRacing, if you read this just refund my money on paypal. I already filed a dispute. Please don't even bother sending out some hacked up junk and calling it a kit.

amy,
good luck with paypal. i just got done filing a disputed claim because i was sent a head that was advertised as "brand new" and when i received it i got a used head.
paypal basically said that since it wasnt a problem with the product not being shipped to me or damaged goods that was shipped to me they cant do anything about it. they said if i bought it through ebay (which i didnt) that im supposed to take it up with ebay. otherwise resolve it with the seller. i think your **** outta luck on this one.

don't even try to file a claim with paypal they're not gonna help. just call ur credit card company/bank and tell them wat happen. it will get resolve a whole lot faster.

good to hear that amy.

i told paypal i was going to cancel my account after this incident but ill keep paypal and when i purchase something ill have put it to my credit card. credit card companies are good at protecting their customers by taking the funds back.
